Weir getting Baxter, surely negates any kudos the man gets for coady.I agree about Coady ( the best thing Weir did) but he was looking at the exit door at Liverpool and I think might have signed for us if we had gone up. I have seen it referred to several times that he wanted Championship level or better, but it is questionable how hard we tried on that - Clough thought he had the bargain of the century with Wallace I think and didn't pursue it other than an initial enquiry.

Players wont come to us after seeing your posts in here!Cos our transfer committee are imbeciles .
could any questions be put at the head scouts door?
Since he arrived we haven't really signed anyone him and Nigel Adkins haven't signed before
Sammon seemed as though it was a deal already in place
You can understand that they have budgets to work to and we want to give our own young players a chance but that hasn't really happened until a fortnight ago x
Agreed. OP was another in this apparently eternal series. More depressing than a Tuesday night in Bury.
OP wasn't it.
As grim as us being jealous of Colchester loanees is, nothing will ever be more depressing than that Tuesday night in Bury my friend! I still revisit McEveley's 92nd minute diagonal ball to the right wing when we had no right winger on the pitch in my nightmares!
(This is not a dig at JMac, been one of our best players since Christmas)
Questions? Maybe.
Thinly veiled accusations? No.
Think there are questions to be answered on our utter lack of apparent positive intent in the transfer market or loan window. Also think there is some absolute shit written by people who don't actually know but just assume.
Like the comment about Weir being the last manager to get good players in. I'm sorry but they were that good we were in a relegation position when he left. Coady didn't look a deal until Clough took hold of him. Clough got Brayford and because of the January activity and shrewd management got us close to the play offs. It was that expectation that hung him when his first full season wasn't such a joy ride.
Clough divides but to not acknowledge his contribution that first season is to neglect all sound reason.
