I've heard it's Shipperley. He's got himself in good shape.

Nah, that's Bladesway.

If we knew a week ago, at least, that we would have a new striker for the derby match what are we waiting for? If he is available then why not sign him for the Preston match, or at least have him on the bench to break him in gently. I keep saying "him", it could be a woman of course:eek:

Soz...just seen the match is off...but the principle is the same

Looking at Shipperley he could still give Porter 10 metres head start and beat him over 100 metres.

The Star says that despite Webber's agent approaching the club expressing an interest in playing for us, we are exploring other options!

In all seriousness, lets hope we do get a new face in this week as the derby match is starting to worry me.
Wednesday have goals in them, and of late in the league we hav`nt.
Wednesday do concede, but i fear if we dont score first well be in for a defeat, wendy have the form-we dont and you cant use the diabolic display againgst rovrum to back us up,and another worrying factor is that if we do god forbid lose next sunday-then that gap above will start to look bigger.

It's important that the crowd stay with them. Holding the ball requires confidence and it's pretty clear we can't do it any other way.

Time for a few of the pussies to grow a pair and get behind the team, if only for one week....:)

Whats the chances of new faces when the quote below is trying to give the impression that DW has money to spend.

"Despite acknowledging the need for savings after being relegated last season, United’s plc chairman Kevin McCabe released the funding required to sign midfielder Kevin McDonald on a free transfer earlier this term."

Does anyone else see a contradiction there

do you think free transfer means works for free ?

When Shipperley used to play for us, he had a flat in Sheffield but also used to commute up and down between Sheffield and London on a daily basis on the train. Put it this way i was very surprised when i saw how he used to refuel after a hard training session. More often than not he would get on with a Burger King and a carrier bag full of cans of Stella, and consume the lot on the way down.

I had a pint with him in a non-league club house at Uxbridge FC about 3 or 4 years ago. None of us knew who he was until he brought up the fact he used to play football. :D

Er..........no.

Even if there were no agents' fees and no signing on fee - as Judge says, the wage bill didn't get any smaller, did it?

No, of course not. It does not , however, suggest a significant investment. Of course there are financial committments for wages, etc, but as other players have left the club there may even be a credit balance.

He's fat, he's round, he's worth a million pound. :D

This further confirms his status in my view as a true Blades hero.
