And also looking at young players, but possibly at the end of the season, according to Journalist Alan Biggs on Twitter.

Happened to see Nigel Clough today. Confirms he "hopes to have a striker in by the end of the week." Working through "list of 3 or 4."

Clough also in the market for a young player "not so much for this season but next." Planning ahead at sufc. Short & long term.

Bringing in young players with a view to next season is good policy. The worry for me is in the meantime these young lads watch us go down to div 4

Not sure if Cloughs realised it yet but we are in a relegation scrap and we need some decent players up for a scrap now.

B58, do you really believe Cloughy might not have noticed we're in a relegation fight?

The Offical Site Friday 17th January 9am..

Sheffield United are pleased to announce that Jonathan Forte has returned to the club until the end of the season..

Many a true word spoken in jest.

Of course he has, but why the f'k is he looking at players for the future when we need players for the now? Particlarly as 10 of em have just been shipped out

Sort out survival now. Look at players for the future in the summer

Priorities

Shame Warnock didn't realise that or we may have still been in the premiership ;)

Blimey. You'll be telling me Eric Tonne is on the verge of a call-up for Norway next.

As coincidence would have it, the best performance I saw from both in a Blades shirt was when Tønne played just behind Philli.

It's amazing what teams find out when they give their youth a chance isn't it?

Yes, very often that they're not good enough. May I introduce you to Joe Ironside, Jordan Chappell, Callum McFadzean, David McAlister, Erik Tonne, Matt Harriott, Jordan Slew, Elliot Whitehouse, Terry Kennedy........?

Then they are in good company, if I can introduce you to McMahon, Collins, Hill (lb), Flynn, Doyle, McGinn, Murphy and Porter

Isn't that what Lord Warnock did in 2007?

It seems to be what all our recent managers have done but the board rightly set a great deal of emphasis of development which I think is fantastic and the right way to go.

I don't think you can look at them as a signing though but more of a long term trialist.

As an aside in terms of strikers, apparently DW1 was interested in signing Berahino (spelling!), the Baggies kid, last season, he ended up at Posh.

As long as he has a fancy name I don't give a damn, that covers all manner of shit. Bruno Riberio might still be able to do a job.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. A player who reached mythical standards the longer he didn't play

Has Porter got a brother?...sister even!?
