I doubt Wilder would as a reaction to the Bolton result. We were desperate for Baldock to return and he was careful not to rush him back. The cup game sounds like a sensible target for Evans to get some game time.

I'm sure it happened before though. It was Doncaster Rovers away on New Year's day a few years ago. Danny Wilson was in charge. We had lots of players out injured at the time. We were all enjoying ourselves having a few beers in the sun at that big theme pub near the ground when word began to spread that we'd signed defender Danny Higginbotham. Sure enough, when the teams were announced, Danny Higginbotham was there - I swear it! Look!

Rules changed this season. Have to be registered by 5pm the day before a game now. And no more emergency loans which could be registered up to 12 noon on day of game.
