Chaps,

Beginning of last season, predicted 3 seasons in this league, nearly came unstuck last year, still believe it will be 2013/14 season. Transition season 2012/13. Out with the old, in with the new. Will be our ground zero season once likes of Monty, Cressy & Quinn have gone. And that has to be good. Shifting dead weight and huge earners in favour of younger & hungrier players is the best way forward. Assuming they talented of course. Time will tell, but DW now has the opportunity to mould his side. Didn't do too bad with the lot he inherited. More confidence in him to get it right than his predecessors. And I think this is key. Without dosh to spend, the abilities of the manager have to shine brightly. He is a good manager despite setting up the team to play too defensively at Wembley.

Of course the present team need additions, current crop of youngsters from the academy probably 1 or 2 seasons away, but once Quinn, Monty & Cress go (this lot must be on combined £25k p/wk?), am sure new blood will follow. Need more creativity. Been saying that for years however.

Head says playoff contenders, heart says Champions League winners - heart is a bit of dreamer!!

If Quinn goes we're fucked.

He's the only one who looks like a decent footballer.

Wilson has a history of ballsing up the second season so I wouldn't be surprised to him back on the dole come next August.

8th-12th finish.

Glass empty.

Yes Macdonald is rubbish isnt he ,never mind glass empty ,why bother ?

Agreed, I cannot understand why people want to get rid of Quinn I might be seeing things differently to others, but in my opinion he is our best creative player. McDonald is a good player too, but doesn't unsettle defences like Quinn and rarely shoots at goal.

Quinn runs at teams from midfield, pulls defenders out of position and creates chances. Yeah he has bad games but who doesn't? I'm pleased with our acquisitions up front but someone needs to load the bullets for them to fire.

I agree we need to trim our wage bill, but that has been done by the loss of Simonsen and Williamson with hopefully Monty and Cresswell to follow.

We aren't going to achieve promotion with eleven players on the minimum wage. Quinn and McDonald are an excellent midfield pairing at this level.

We're favourites with bookies, and for me I think we should be near top and I expect us to be there. I think the younger players will be blooded in this season, I think it's a weaker league this season as 3 that came down are stuffed financially and hardly have a first team let alone squad. I predict a top 2 finish (bound to fail, but thats my feeling)

I agree that Quinn would be a huge loss. But McDonald, Blackman, Cofie, McMahon are all players who have a bit of a spark and can do different things. Collins / McGuire is a superb central defencive partership at this level. Doyle is the perfect partner for McDonald - a good ball winner with a reasonable short range pass.

We've got a lot that could go for us this season. It primarily hangs on finding a strike partneship with goals in it, and we will have to see if this develops.

And we've still got Quinn.

Glass half full for me. Play-off's (though then it will be empty:)).

It would be great to complete a full set of Divisional titles but I reckon we'll make the play-offs - bring 'em on, there's a first time for every thing including a POF win!

Well we're half fucked. Quinn is one of only two footballers we have, and McDonald will have to work harder if Quinny goes so don't expect a full season from him firing on all cylinders should we lose such a vital player as Quinny.

Seriously, ive waved the white flag when it comes to playoffs. Cant take it anymore

Funny how a couple of years ago few people had a good word for Quinny.

Even Keith Edwards used to moan about him on the radio for taking too many touches and not getting the crosses in early.

Now he's the Messiah (not a naughty boy).

Hes not my messiah ,he has too much ability for this league but no where near enough application. he disappeared for two thirds of last season in a good side playing with good players well within his capabilities. The assist bollocks is a red herring ,i remember one goal where he had an easy one on one ,it was saved and hed put the rebound in ,he got a bloody assist for that. I like him and he does have ability like I said but the main problem is we have to cater for him and alter our whole shape to get the best out of him and we lose the ability of at least 2 other players when this happens. He doesnt have the strength of character to play in a system and this is why he hasnt been picked for a higher level ,its like that annoying twat in the play ground at school who was really good ,but never got picked. We cant afford to play him as the supporting striker in the hole as we lose a winger or our second forward.
He may have a blinder today and i will get pilloried but long term he is an enigma and a problem.

Were in the pub league. It's Shit if we can get what's reported for Quinn I will drive him there myself. Go get that kid from Burton that gave us the runaround on a lot less money

1st home start for a while, so let's make the most of it.
Will be very disappointed if we fail to get three points today.
Just hope we can go up in automatic and save us all from another play off disaster.

You'e entitled to your opinion (and I agree with a lot of it), but I do think your minds made up about him in a way that you get annoyed at others re Monty.

I do get your annoyance at some of his intics, they fuck me off too. But he is one of only a few players who make things happen, and overall we're far better with him that without him.

Paying him three times what he's worth is double edged sword. It's crippling us financially, but he wont be going anywhere until the end of the season, I reckon.

Personally,i think the fact quinny is still here is a credit to dw and the club.
Keeping Quinn is a huge bonus-he`s a workhorse and wears his heart on his sleeve, like monty-only much much better.
People who think a united minus quinn is a good thing must be deluded.
Looking ahead to the season-i cant see why we cant do well in this league again,as long as blackman, cofie and miller can chip in with 15+ goals a piece we`ll be fine.!!!!!:)
Sit tight blades and enjoy thi sens.

Quinn was one of our best players last season & will be sorely missed if sold.

BUT irreplaceable? NO. Even Ronaldo from Man U to Madrid was replaceable.

here here, but are'nt we the only selling club and when we got relegated quinner did'nt fancy playing in this league again after being on loan at toytown earlier, in his career also am i the only blade{granted the young un was with us}to have seen 2 blades play international soccer alright it were a friendly but they all count was quinners older bro and kenny for ireland?

Is this written in some cryptic Irish dialect?

For a club that can drop £50m on new players each summer, no player is irreplaceable. For a club that doesn't have two shiny pennies to rub together, however... it's a little harder.

Anyway, this season seems to be a season of getting by and hoping for a decent run, waiting for better times next year.

Your posts seem to be Dublin'

i think we have a better balance this season although i do agree with Sitters about Quinn.. he always plays well in the transfer window so we'll see how he is still doing in December.. the fact that we seem to have constant issues at Left Back is down to his positional indiscipline.. however..
i reckon we only need a 'proper' right winger and we'll be right up top

would'nt mind not even had a scoop to be seenen dublin, hic, the point i was making was that 2 years ago when were got relegated,in an interview with the irish daily star he said he did'nt want to play in this league understandable i know but let it out to the public,i've know probs with quinner, even met some of his family at wembley and i hope we keep him, point been sick of blades saying were a selling club when every club sells its best players {spurs anyone}we've just got to get behind those that pull on the red & white and as we tumbled down the leagues could we have really expected to have kept the kyle's,lowton, jags, killa, etc,i was there when the sold salmon's to stoke and played in the john tudor cup at bluebell junior school seen to many relegations, not enough promotions but will always be a blade. wether it's in s2 or dublin 10
