I expected it to look better than that.

I know it was peeing down but there were patches of mud before they kicked off.

Are the fibres still working their magic or is that as good as it gets?

Looked a bit bare in patches and probably needs a week or two's more growth until we see the finished article. It'll be reyt :)

I agree I expected slightly better but it should hopefully look better by the start of the season with a bit more growth behind it.

The program for todays game stated tha although the pitch is perfectly playable, we won't get the best out of the pitch for at least 2 weeks.

Cutting up where Long was warming up. Sure it'll be fine; there are hundreds of these pitches all over the world - but maybe needs a few weeks.

Think the pitch will get better and stronger over the coming weeks

See Positive Nigel's programme notes. It isn't ready yet but will be pristine for Chezzy match.

There is still 3 weeks till our 1st home fixture. patience is required here I think

It was a genuine question. I honestly thought a million pound pitch would look like the emirates/etihad.

If it does take time to bed in, 2 home friendlies probably aren't the best idea??

It is exactly the same pitch as at Emirates/Etihad so by the Chezzy game it will look like them. 180 minutes of football will do minimal harm so nothing to be worried about.

Still looked like carpet to me on Saturday.

Obviously not as smart as Leicesters though.

It should look far better considering the shit it has had all over it this season
Yeh, but it makes me wonder why Leicesters Pitch looks better than ours

And we have had their shite ..........................

Leicester are a little more fleet-footed so they make less contact with the pitch, unlike our plodding cart horses

I think the pitch has stood up very well this season. Looked almost as good Saturday as it did last August against Chessie. Not sure we've had very "testing" weather throughout the winter but don't recall it looking as good as this at season end for a good while.

The pitch has been great. In our first couple of seasons in this league that pitch would have been a real asset, as the bog we had in those winters was a leveller.

Sadly the leveller now is our players.

I think it has been a brilliant investment and well worth the money spent on it. The improvement in play and results is there to see and we haven't had to face the terrible fixture pile up at the end of the season what with all the postponed games due to waterlogged and frozen pitches.

Three cheers for McCabe. Hip, hip ...
