Who do you want as the next united manager

For the up and coming management, plying their trade in the lower leagues and suited to the size and spirit of the Blades Way, its Chris Wilder and David Holdsworth.

After the good mauling Mansfield gave us pre-season (and this from a club in proper turmoil and financial restructuring), and the reaction from KB (as well as a number of Senior pro's) its no great surprise its all gone pear shaped so soon....

Add Reg to the list and re-check the votes.....

wtf?

Gary Megson!

Unbelievable Jeff! :)

I put O'Driscoll, but I am really in the unrealistic camp on this. We couldn't pay the compo for him and I'm not even sure he'd want to join us.

My personal top 4 choices would be,

1. O'Neill - Never going to happen.
2. Curbishley - Gets a nose bleed north of Cockfosters, so never going to happen.
3. O'Driscoll - Don't think we could pay him enough to leave and pay compo.
4. Coppell - Retired

Please, please, please, NOT Brown, Dowie, Southgate, Mowbray, Coleman, Jimmy Jewell or even god forbid.............................. Megson!
Having said that, it would be almost worth it for a month or two for them to give Megson the job, for all the shite that the little ginger twat would get!!

Are we talking about Curbishley, the ex west ham manager. are you like two years old and too young to remember or just got a bad memory! ;)

I voted for Speed, and would like Speed but if we got Mowbray I probably would have an instant jism

Nope, I am like much older than that with a fairly decent memory, and recall Curbishley being a very good manager. Was the Tevez affair his fault? I doubt it.

I remember him doing a good job at charlton some years ago, however he spent a big wedge on players at west ham to only relegate us on the last game of the season. The tevez affair might not be his fault but I think about it everytime I see him on tv.

He spent a big wedge on players at West Ham, to keep them in the premiership? He must be bad then!
Seriously I do see your point but if we were offered Tevez on loan for the season would you say no? It was the fault of the West Ham board not Curbishley or even Tevez. I dislike West Ham as much as the next Blade but we aren't talking Megson here!

I was discussing this with one of my brothers yesterday and we came to almost exactly the same word-for-word conclusion.
We can't afford O'Neill, either his wages or the money he'd want to spend. Curbishley won't move up north, we can't afford the compo for SO'D and Coppell's in the retirement home having his piss-bag changed.

We did however agree that most of the list were not the ones we want, that it might well be Brown, but that there might be some schaudenfreude in seeing Megson squirm as he got abused by almost everybody in the ground every single game.

And you know that there'd be one almighty shitstorm that would make the appointment of Robson look like the Second Coming.

1. O'Driscoll
2. Speed

O'Driscoll wont come and I'd be happy to give Speed a try.
ROFL - Good old strong cider, eh?
You were either joking, or pissed out of your head, when you suggested we'd got O'Neil lined up. Or are you just insane?

:)

Oh sorry just jumped and didnt read properly.
You forgot to have a go at others while you were pissed.
Now go skip back up the drive and go back to licking windows.:p

Voted for SoD too. I'd have loved Sabella, but I had to be at least slightly realistic.

I voted SoD too. I think Speed would be a bit of a gamble, though he does seem to have a good standing in the game and might be able to attract players ( even if they all have to be freebies or loans, which seems the way of things these days ). Anyone else such as Brown and your dividing the fan base at a time when we all need to pull together, unless we pull in an unexpected big fish.
