He had them challenging every season, which a damn sight better than Adkins is managing.

I would have voted for Adkins, but Karl Robinson would have been my second choice. Not that he would have come here anyway.

I'm glad others have already mentioned Deane and I won't look a complete nutcase. A few weeks back a Wednesday mate of mine asked who I would want if Clough was to go, and without hesitation I said Deano.

I highly doubt that will happen though.
If Deano has a rocky start to his tenure as Blades manager. His legendary status may buy him a bit more patience from Blades fans......Thus affording him a bit more time to get it right.

to be fair I only re posted it as Pete said I was a liar about not wanting Adkins in the first place
hope that quells your rather strange unsolicited wrath

No actually you said you thought Adkins 'magic had gone' before he signed and that you'd been "proven right".

Your sole evidence for this hindsight was pressing on Robinson in a vote of 20 odd names, and no mention whatsoever of Adkins or worries about him at any point.

One of us is a liar.... But it's not me...

again your calling me a liar but if you want to trawl through all the hundreds of managerial threads of who we were going to get youll find I wasnt enammered about Adkins
but your petty obsession of saying Im making it up wont goad me into trawling through them
I know what I thought and what you say I thought is pure bollocks on your part

if you can find any comment from me before his appointment where I endorse him , Ill bow to your assumption
Ill let you prove it

till then put up or shut the fuck up

Apart from this largely forgotten thread that you trawled back for because you think it shows you to be right?

Interesting that Adkins was the runaway winner of the poll yet all the internet "experts" now say he's never been up to the job and they never wanted him.
Not really, I didn't vote. ;)

But in fairness to those that did, many have been surprised at his failure to make any progress at all.

Ive just voted for Hoddle because he hates disabled people (some nonsense about god) so I'm sure he'd have a clear out of our current squad.

Don't think I voted either and I share your surprise now.

I wouldn't have sacked Clough although we don't know what was happening behind the scenes so I'm not saying that decision was wrong, just that I wouldn't have made it on the information that I had available.

I was pleased when Adkins was appointed and he now needs to be given much more time or the merry go round of uncertainty will continue to turn and the club will remain in a constant state of dizziness.

As they say "if you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got" and it's a constant churn of managers, and thereby policies too, that's got us in the mess we're in now.

A bit of stability can't do us much damage and who knows, given a bit of time and patience it may even do us some good.

For the internet snipers out there that is not an I believe in Adkins statement, I would be saying the same whoever our present manager happened to be.
