Any club that appoints (or gives consideration to hiring) Lampard as manager these days, deserves the utmost ridicule. He's had multiple opportunities, and been a failure everywhere.
Was given quite the warchest at Derby, but failed to get promotion. The way they plummeted after he (and most of the money) left speaks volumes of how they put all their eggs in the "Frank Lampard's Derby County" basket, despite it being ludicrously obvious that he was only waiting for the Chelsea job to become available.
Admittedly, he had a transfer embargo to deal with at Chelsea, but he still had an academy full of talent ready to make a name for themselves, and it's not as if they didn't have a strong squad. Transfermarkt values that 2019/20 squad at just over 700million Euro, with the likes of Rudiger, Willian, Pedro, Kante, Giroud, Pulisic all in there just to name a few. Then spunked a disgusting amount of money the next summer, and got sacked halfway through the league season, with 29 points from 19 games.
And then Everton were dumb enough to give him a chance, and very nearly were punished for it. Scraped survival with a game to spare after 7 defeats in his first 9 matches, then sacked the following season after 3 wins in 20 games in the league. Again after he spent a handsome amount of money.
One of a few managers around currently who I actively hate to see being given more opportunities, over managers who are actually competent. Spunks money whenever he has the chance, but has no tactical intelligence to back it up.
I can't see him doing anything positive if he were given the Coventry job.
