New Kit for next year?

I don't think that Shoreham View kid understands what getting a big brand means to the club with regards designs etc.

There will be no unique embroidery in the shirts or fan choices, the kits will be off peg adidas templates. I laughed last night when looking through twitter at everyone getting giddy about his photoshop "choices". If the premiership clubs like Swansea and Sunderland didn't get unique designs, League One Sheff United definitely wont be going one.

Here's a more relevant vote out of 3:

Ive never bought football shirt, but I'd buy the 3rd option

Punk Blade I seem to remember that Bassett had a hand in the design of the diamond kit... He said something along the lines of " I think our fans will love it". We didn't. It was shit
I thought Bassett's contribution was insisting there was still a stripe in it somewhere so there was a thin white stripe running through the red diamonds, which probably made it even worse...

Problem with that is that frst choice is actually a lecoq shirt. We had it for the 08/09? season, so there's no chance in getting that.

Is that Martin Chivers to the left of TC?

It does look a bit like Big Chiv except that he is (a) running and (b) defending, both of which were beneath his dignity!

Using this photo as a guide my guess would be Terry Naylor.

Yes it is Terry Naylor. The Spurs player next to Geoff Salmons is Ray Evans. I am not sure of the other Spurs player (behind TC), at first I thought it was John Pratt but according to this link http://www.11v11.com/matches/tottenham-hotspur-v-sheffield-united-25-march-1972-81537/ he didnt play in that match. He doesnt look like Steve Perryman so I looked at Phil Holder (I do not remember him) in google images and I think it might be him

EDIT: just had another look at the line up and I had missed seeing that John Pratt was the sub and replaced Cyril Knowles, so the Spurs player behind TC is John Pratt

Think there is a photo of Fred Tunstall about to celebrate his goal in the 1925 final in the book you have. I have not seen any other photos of Fred Tunstall goal and the book you have might be the only book/magazine/programme that has the photo of the goal

I'd gladly share the Fred Tunstall picture only the book was a paperback (a present from my mum when I had a fever) and fell to bits years ago. Apart from Wolverhampton wearing red and white stripes the only thing I remember was an account of Rhyl beating Barnsley during their epic 1970/1 run to the Third Round.

I agree about John Pratt, by the way. This would have been the season described by Hunter Davies in The Glory Game, his "warts & all" story of a year at White Hart Lane. So another quiz question for a lazy Saturday afternoon might be this: Which three members of the Tottenham 1971/2 squad were Labour voters? (All the others were either exceptionally right wing or not interested).

Just been watching the snooker on TV.

Snooker, the smartest, most elegant professional sportsmen of all. Why the hell don't they have a dress code for the audience too? I'm not interested in seeing that the bloke on row 5 aisle 4 or whatever supports Coventry flaming City.

They wouldn't let you into a club in Silver Street wearing a crackling nylon 'sweet-wrapper' instead of a shirt, they shouldn't let you into the Crucible either, its probably a fire-hazard and it makes my laptop screen look messy.

DON'T WEAR FOOTBALL KITS AT SNOOKER GAMES UNLESS YOU ARE UNDER 12.

Not read The Glory Game, been meaning to borrow it off my Norwich supporting mate who bought it many years ago. I know Bobby Scarth who was a professional player for Spurs (he didnt play for the 1st team) because he played for Luton Deaf in the early 1990s (Luton Deaf's manager at the time is now GB Deaf manager and one of my close friends). He told me martin Chivers was a real laugh. To answer your question about Labour supporters playing for Spurs... would the late Cyril Knowles be one of them? He was a South Yorkshireman

Right there, Silent Blade. Cyril was one of the three. Ralph Coates and Steve Perryman were the others. Bobby Scarth was definitely mentioned in the book, as was another Spurs' youngster, Graeme Souness.

And me & Mrs Felix have just come back from town, where we saw Coventry Man on Arundel Gate in between snooker sessions.

The new Bayern kit has been leaked. If you swapped the blue and red stripes for red and white and changed the collar to black that would be a beautiful United home kit. http://www.footyheadlines.com/2013/12/fc-bayern-munchen-14-15-kit.html. Also something like either of these Hamburg shirts for our away kit would be class http://www.footyheadlines.com/2014/02/hamburger-sv-14-15-kits-shirts.html. Obviously we're likely going to end up with more boring templates but we may as well enjoy the hope.

A red and white version of the Bayern kit wouldn't be too bad - would prefer thinner stripes and stripes on the sleeves. Like the River Plate even more one though!
Bayern's choice of kit seems really random - in recent seasons they've worn all red, red & white stripes, red & white hoops, red with blue sleeves and now red & blue stripes. Odd that such a big club don't have an "iconic" look like Real Madrid, Barca, ManYoo and the rest...

Its an adidas shirt, with the le coq badges slapped on. I should know I made that on photoshop back in the day. Note the asc in the corner, my initials.

But you are correct there is zero chance of getting a 5 year old template.

We need a megathread for this, what does Blade56 think?

Vorpal - see "Twats, the lot of them" post number 3101 - totally agree with your thoughts.

12 pages discussing clothing?

I'm sorry but you all sound like a bunch of women.
...and you sound like a 80 year old bloke sat in a working mens club supping his pint of mix.

So I would but any real stock in "sound like".

Er ermm, I take it you're not pushing for a plagiarism suit Blackheath? ;)

They say great minds etc. but feeble ones are even more alike aren't they?

And his wife 'Lady Godawful', looks like she picks up her fashion tips from Grayson Perry but to be fair, she is prettier.
