i am good friends with david stockdale who is fulhams third chioce keeper and spent the second half of the season on loan at plymouth he told me kb had been on the phone to take him on a seasons long loan

Have UTD actually made any inquiries for Simonsen, was quite impressed with him when he was on loan

I'm sure Cresswell remembers this guy quite well!!

I kind of know this lad from someone else. He's an ok keeper though nowt special. He was at Darlington before he went to Fulham and did well for them.

Would be ok as a second choice.

yeah he started at darlington then spent the second half of leicsters promotion season on loan there where he won the leage then last season he spent the second half of the season on loan at plymouth he is not a bad keeper still young at only 24

Blades have had talks about Simonsen and are eyeing another keeper from a lower league. The Simonsen deal is further along and the more likely to be done.

That's not breaking news, I think it's all been posted on BM.

Not sure Dunc but I think I remember hearing he'd been made their goalkeeping coach now, don't think he'll be playing at all next season.

Great. Here is the backwards step that I am expecting. We've lost Paddy due to the board being naive and we actually have the chance to add value by bringing in SS. instead we are going to sign a nobody (who is undoubtably worse than Kenny) and hence take a backwards step.

I saw Birch's comments stating we were in talks with another keeper or welll on the way to bringing in a replacement. I pray it's SS on a perm contract rather than this guy. However I shouldimagie we'll go for David Stockdale (on about 5k a week, with Fulham probably paying some of his wages and a release clause in the contract) on a season long loan rather than offer Simonsen somewhere between 10-15k a week on a 2/3 year deal.

Untangle ya panties until something actually happens maybe?

just spoke to my friend david stockdale and he said his move to bdtbl all depends on the ss deal apparantly ss is asking for quite a large wage to come so he told me david stockdale will know by the end of the week

aye, aye. As you asked nicely Houso :D

:D Thankyou.

If the Stockdale thing is right, he actually sounds like a good little keeper and cost Fulham around 600k from what I can gather. Good age too.

Plus, let's not forget where Paddy came from...

Yeah , I can remember SUFC buying a really crap centre half from a 4th division team for £40,000,

He was that bad we had to change his position , just to make sure he fitted in with us.

I think we changed him into playing centre forward

Think he was from Donny Rovers, ............................... Brain somethin or other............................. we really should've tried to buy a prospective England player instead of gambling on a crap player from the lower eschelons for cheap .

Ah but.

For every Tony Currie there's a Terry Garbett.
For every Deano there's a Paul Williams or Darren Carr.
For every Bob Booker there's a Ray McHale.
For every Jamie Ward there's an Andy Taylor.

There is a lot of luck involved in getting players from a lower level and getting them to the level you want. You need a balalnce not a one dimensional approach.
