I see from the O/S that the Club has appointed a Head of Operations.

Whilst I have no idea how the management structure operates at the Club, and how much work everyone does, I feel it is appropriate to ask:

Has somebody left? In other words, is this a replacement?

If this is a new post, who has been doing the work until now? Why do we need to add another tier to the management when the club is hardly flushed with money.

Is this really necessary, or is it empire-building by Mr.Birch?

I'm guessing but it appears to me that we're replacing some of the management team with cheaper alternatives. I would think that McCarthy and Lewis come quite a bit cheaper than Farnan and Argall. Might be completely wrong of course.....

This bell end seems to think its big time to tweet photos of himself with fat Seth off Radio Sheffield

FFS did he seriously underestimate this particular Blades expectations

What are your expectations of a Head of Operations? I've no idea what one does, so I couldn't really set any expectations, so I'm thinking of using yours if you'd be kind enough to share them.

That wasn't the head of operations. Great photo for a caption competition though

It says on the OS that his brief is to make your visit to Brammall Lane as enjoyable as possible - perhaps the answer is don't go there on match days!

Dave McCarthy has indeed taken on some of the responsibilities vacated by Simon Argall, as others have correctly pointed out.

He's done a lot of work for the club previously both at home and abroad and has definately gone above and beyond the call of duty from what I've heard.

He's a blade, absolutely no question about it, but he's also got a lot of experience in football and elsewhere which will no doubt be invaluable.

The tweet you refer to was actually by Richard Batho, who is working on supporter communications.

Is it really necessary to call him names like that for simply tweeting a photo of him and Seth Bennett? That's not the way we do things on here.

Tweeting a single photo of him and Seth is far from the only thing he's done since beginning work at the lane.

I used to go to school with him actually. He used to be a bit of a centre half in them days. One of the half a dozen or so Blades in a totally Wendy dominated school in them days.

I am getting the hang of this now ,so far i`ve been caled a liar twice ,a lying toad and had various other insults thrown at me without any moderation ,and as soon as I express an opinion about this fellas "bellendishness" (allbeit the wrong fella from the on the OP was referring) becuase that particular fella allows some on here to actually think they have access to the runnings of the club I get chastiesed .
Ok as long as I now understand the rules i guess i should get along fine

I'm a Blade, loyal thru and thru, can I have a job, please Tricky, may I have a job please? £40k per annum would be fine.

You've been around here long enough to know that any moderation goes on in the background. We rarely delete posts and we certainly do not censor them, even if we have issued infractions for what was said. And where we've issued infractions, it is an issue between the admin team (Foxy and I) and the person we're infracting. So you have misunderstood the rules if you expected an update report.

And Foxy has not mentioned anything about name-calling because Richard Batho is a member of the club. He has mentioned about name calling because Richard Batho is a member of this forum and the usual rules about personal abuse apply.

As for the hierarchy at the club, this was briefly mentioned in the BIFF minutes: http://www.s24su.com/showthread.php?21637-BIFF-Meeting-Minutes-January

Dave McCarthy was introduced to the group and the new management structure at Bramall Lane was explained. There are four strategic managers who report directly to Trevor Birch. Dave McCarthy as Head of Operations, Steve Lewis as newly appointed Head of Commercial, Carl Shieber as Head of Football Administration and David Harrop as Chief Finance Officer.

I'd debate the loyal thru and thru bit. Wonder if your posting history on here would go against you if a bean counting job came up at the Lane? I'd be happy to give them the nod as to your identity.

Do you think £40k is a realistic estimate for Batho's salary? Hadn't really considered how much he'd be on but initial instinct is that 40k sounds high.

I'm not on about bean counting, I'm on about a fan liason role or operations role - think I'd be good at it!!

Salary? I'd say £30k. I still iant got me head round how an employee can perform the role I think he is meant to be performing. What is his role again? Somone remind me please.

He isn't an employee. He's working for the club on a consultancy basis.

If you're on about RB he has been doing a lot of talking and listening to supporters since he started the job. I think he's already had an positive effect by conveying supporters' views to the club on things like the goal celebration music and the catering. I think it's an excellent idea to have someone in such a role, and if we end up selling 40 extra season tickets as a result of his efforts, the finances will be justified.

40 x £400 = £16,000 - dont seem like much to me.

Now then, if he puts Season Tickets up to £2,000 each then 40 x £2,000 = £80,000

Its a winner

Why?

Come on, here's a chance for you to make yourself look even more stupid than usual.

If an individual is claiming to be self-employed he or she has the option of issuing invoices to SUFC for consultancy services either personally or via a Limited Company. He or she can then receive dividends from the Ltd Co after payment of corporation tax. Very tax efficient when compared with the PAYE and NI which would be due if HMRC successfully argued that the individual was in fact an employee.

I've got to take exception to the stupid remark Jansky. I've had a good go at telling you along time ago what was going wrong with McCabe's/Realty's properties but zero credit from you, telling you very early Blackwell was a joke etc etc and all I get is abuse. It's just not fair.

Whoopee do.
The only thing that really mattered was season tickets and he's been uttely conspicious by his absence.
Looks more and more like a club stooge appointment.
Club puts out press release then appointment disappears with vague reference to goal music mentioned in passing on a fans website.
If it was an appointment of any real worth he'd be getting stuck into things that matter, seeing what ideas there are out there, posting on here, listening, finding out, feeding back etc.
Shame, it should have been the start of the club re-engaging with the people it's so pissed off.

So, because he hasn't apparently posted on here asking for views, that's it, initiative failed?

He got pages and pages of views, from all manner of experts on here a few weeks ago, maybe that was enough to get him started. My personal view, based on meeting him a few times over the years, is that he'd likely have some ideas of his own too, some might even coincide with yours, he doesn't seem like stooge material to me. There's a big difference between being a doer (who does things) and a keyboard warrior (who doesn't do things).

I can't help thinking you're jumping the gun with this one len. You've done your bit, let the bloke hang himself with the rope you gave him first before you organise the wake.

That is the only bit he hasn't done so far, mainly because he is still in the process of doing the rest. You see, we still have a large fan base, with widely varying opinions, and he has a big job to sift the positive suggestions for how to take things forward from the knee jerk mewling of the whiny cunts who take comfort from repeatedly kicking people for the mistakes of the past. Its like trying to filter a symphony out of a barrage of meaningless white noise.

Just because he hasn't posted on here yet doesn't mean that he isn't doing a meaningful & worthwhile job. You haven't got a clue what he is doing Len, and I'm sure he will broadcast a message loud & clear when he feels that he is in a position to do so. If that doesn't fit in with your agenda of when & how that should happen...... well, I would suggest that probably means he is getting it right. You having reverted to your previous position as king of the ill considered snap judgment & all that.

What did you copy the first paragraph from, an AAT training manual? Naive little cherub, aren't you?

As for the rest, stop adopting such an obnoxious persona in your posts, and you might find that that your ideas, and you personally, are treated with a bit more respect. As things stand, you are generally regarded as a poor imitator of much more professional wind up merchants on this forum. You have neither the intellect nor the humour of those on here that you so dearly want to be bracketed with. "Top stuff, loving it" makes people cringe and makes you look like a wanker, even though I believe we possibly established a while ago that apparently you aren't, allegedly.

If I was you, I'd take your mate Cooper's advice, and stop trying to come across as an attention seeking arse. Now run along.
