Assuming this would be a backup GK (if it's true), I can't think of anyone that's either A, young with potential, or B, old and experienced, that's available right now.

While Davies is decent backup for Cooper (didn't he sign a new contract in the summer as well?), it wouldn't hurt to get a better backup GK if the deal is right.
