New ball for next season, maybe not important to some but highly rated by the Soccer AM lads, thoughts?

Mitre is a strange name for a company that makes sports equipment. I don't automatically put religious headgear and footballs together in my mind.

Can just imagine Yarmulka manufacturing surfboards or Turban producing sports bras.

Assuming they get customised for each team like last season, it'd be nice to get a United one.

Saw one of last seasons pop up on eBay but couldn't justify the £100 or so it was priced at.

I wonder if this new ball will have anti phobia qualities so people like Jordan Rhodes wont be frightened of kicking it in a penalty shoot out
Penalty shoot outs will have 10 separate match balls, one for each penalty taker so that when the camera zooms in on the penalty spot, each and every advertising sponsor will be seen. But the cost of sponsoring these balls will depend in which order it's taken, the 1st being the most expensive and so on. Anyone who's ball misses will get a slight discount. The winning ball that clinches it will go on eBay.

Used to go to school with a kid who took the odd morning off school to collect the Mitre Deltas that the tramps at Middlewood would kick over the wall during training so he cold sell them at school. great footies

I'm waiting for one to arrive from Mitre, we'll do a review at forum football :)

I've heard they have unique sounds for every team. Sunlund's has black cat noises, Norwich's has canaries, and David Blunkett will tell you what the pig ball is.

Twit-twooing owls?

No. GOING DOWN.

I got one from the Pig training ground, one of the security guards that worked there got it for me.

I used to think expensive footballs weren't worth the money until someone brought a pro Mitre ball to 7-a-sides at Goodwin and I stuck it in the corner from 20 yards. If you catch them right they travel. :)

I think I've still got the pattern of that Mitre Multiplex imprinted on my thigh from a freezing Sunday morning pile driver...

I did once have a bruise on my thigh that had mitre arrows on it. It was like a badge of honour. For about three days.

Bought a ball from the 'Lane shop for my son's birthday, hardly used it in anger then took it to forum football at Goals and it split.

I'm well on board with that. I'm still angry about the Premier League one from this season. Not a patch of white on it.
