The League Cup win over Liverpool in 1978 might be worth a mntion, but other than that, not really

Yes, the Liverpool game is a good choice. the 6-1 win at Cardiff in 1977 is worth including as well, I suppose.

I remember going to that one although through a bit of a drunken haze, went on the train hit Newport at 10.30am then into Cardiff. If I remember I think it may have been a 2pm KO due to power cuts etc. Cardiff fans werent happy

I didnt go to the match but after watching the match highlights on YTV in the next day, I became a committed Blade and started to watch the Blades regularly. I stopped reading American Adventure comics started reading Scorcher football comics and Shoot!

Wasn't this an all ticket game. Can't remember why but it I don't think there was another until years after.

It's got to be top heavy with games in the early 70s upto 75, others from later in the decade that might be worth a shout, the 2-2 with Spurs New Years day match in 1978 from 2-0 down. From relegation season 78-79, 5-1 v Notts Co, 3-0 West Ham and 3-1 at Newcastle.

I see the author went to Carfield Infant and Junior school, the same as I went to.
The school is still going stong as I had an exchange of emails with them recently.
Did anyone else on here go there?
