Any view on Hector Kyprianou, a former Tottenham youth, can also play in central midfield and at centre half? 4 years younger than Knight. Bit taller at 6'2. 8 goals from midfield this season, an international for Cyprus and linked to Bournemouth in Janurary.

The asking price for Edwards is just wild if we were chasing a young CB at Peterborough Katongo from City could be worth a look after a decent loan there.

Knight looks a steady player and we will need players with his experience if he’s a good character and leader it would make sense

Still waking up, brain fart. I'd had eyes on that match up as I'd love us to poach Poku if Peterborough failed to go up, and Brannagan if Oxford failed to go up.

Yeah both would be good options. Brannagan is Oxfords highest paid player though and he wouldn't be cheap. However hes not on anything like Fleck and Norwood were so he should be attainable

Brannagan has been touted on here for years as one who will soon make the step up but he’s still at Oxford. Can’t see him getting much better now given his age so I’d hope we were in for better.

Brannagan has gotten better and better over the last three seasons. He's too good for League One and 28 isn't too old.

His output in terms of goals and assists hasn’t really improved over the last three seasons. I suppose it depends where you think we’re at. If we’re aiming for top end of the Championship next season then we’ll need better. I don’t think Brannagan is there yet and given his age it’s unlikely he’ll get significantly better. There’s a reason he’s still at Oxford.

We couldn’t have got Edward’s or probably even Greaves with the money we used on Trusty, Slimane and Traore I don’t think. Peterborough were asking 15 million for Edward’s off spurs last summer. Spurs understandably said no thanks and went and spent 10 on Phillips from Blackburn instead.

Well if the fanbase had patience with players that may not be the complete finished article, as opposed to wanting "leaders" and "experienced pros", then maybe we would sign these players at the time it makes sense to, rather than waiting too long and missing the window. That said, we wait too long for the players with less upside as well so it's probably just an endemic case of being reactive in the market

If that’s the case then you have to wonder why nobody has gone for him before now.

I wouldn’t be so certain about that release clause either. If they upped his wages significantly he might’ve agreed to remove the clause all together. If he was desperate to leave Oxford for a bigger club he could’ve just not signed the new deal.
