He and his girlfriend are no longer together. Split up long before he left for Burton

Wonder if that is why his form dipped? I always saw them out together, he lives/lived just up the road from me

One of our ex-managers told Bert that Jan Age F. was incredibly nesh.

Flynny? Wayne Quinn? Booby Ford? Ashley Wart?

pommpey

Peter ndluv. He always wore gloves!

Good thread. Quite a few names I can think of....

Goalkeepers - Tomlinson, Benstead good calls, but Simonsen was pathetic. A big bloke who hated contact and seemed to get smaller when he went into challenges.

Defence - Most defenders should like tackling but we have had a few who seemed to avoid contact. Andy Taylor stands out of recent times as does Westlake. I also thought Collins was nesh for a big lad.
Also a great player but Vas Borbokis hated tackling and would move out of 50/50's. The French lad Calve seemed to think he did not have to touch another player.

Midfield - Jonathan Hunt, Cotterill, Frain and Carney as others have alluded to were pathetically weak/nesh. Ryan Flynn was one who seemed to like to try and tactically avoid a tackle. Willie Falconer hated contact too and James Harper was another in recent years who did his best to try and not get dirty. Jamie Hoyland was another sadly that preferred not to get stuck in I felt. As much as I loved him, Colin Morris was a bit nesh too - he even admitted it to me once! Tonge was also another weakling for a central midfielder.

Strikers - Philliskirk definitely, Bogdanovic was a lightweight as was another couple of foreign strikers Ten Heuvel and Katchouro. Carl Asbaba also for a big ish bloke hated contact. Andy Gray another. Andy Scott was a bit of a wimp too.

Sure I have forgot some. We have had some real powder puff players over the years.

Got to throw Long in the mix. Still think he could be a decent keeper if he weren't scared of his own shadow.

I don't know if Jordan Stewart ever made a challenge, but that might've been because his legs were tied in knots.

Andy Campbell was pretty bad too. And his face should've put the fear of God into the opposition.

Your hate for Kilgallon is quite odd. Part of the best defensive unit I've seen at the lane.

Indeed he was, initially at least.

Then he saw a chance at the big time and produced the most disinterested piss-taking displays I've ever seen. Even worse than any of last seasons tosspots. And he knew exactly what he was doing. I'm glad he's been a virtual unknown since he left.

Mark Yeates

I remember bumping into Yeates in a petrol station, he was nice enough and my wife said hello to him. Then I noticed that apart from only being 5ft 2" tall, he was wearing those low slung jeans, where the waistband is almost around your knees, showing off your boxer shorts, and they were covered in silvery, sparkly bits.

I felt like saying to him, "nay lad, nay, tha dunt wear that soort o clobber if that a Blade, get thisen oooem and get some proper clooors on, or thall feel back o mi and! "

Get thi sen some Lee jeans, a pair of Adidas Sambas and a BELT.

We often have threads about hard men and discussions about the 'hardest' (usually Billy Tightshirt) but what about the other side of the coin players who 'nesh' or 'bottle' it, players who never got their knees dirty?

I'll start with a few

1) Tomlinson
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7) David Carney
8)
9) Tony Philliskirk
10)
11)David Frain
Never mind 11 .I can probably think of a full squad of 22 with out much work.
