I wouldn't normally give a mention to the ref, but honestly don't think I have seen a better performance in a Blades game from the man in the middle for a number of years. Let the game flow, treated each team fairly (wasn't the I'm a premier league ref and these are all my mates type), not one for the crazy hand gestures and the "look at me, I'm special" attitude. Pen was a stonewaller and we can't have any complaints about that. After seeing the guy against Preston, it makes you appreciate a decent referee!

I have a feeling that it won't quite be the same from Mr Dean next week.

Are you his son!? Multiple decisions he got wrong, how about a few yellow cards for diving, just for starters?

What diving ? Watched the game at home and there was a distinct lack of diving. Other refs would have sent off McEverly by giving a second yellow for the penalty. Good ref.

Only complaint was the constant climbing all over McNulty that went unpunished. If he was giving yellows for diving, I fear Baxter may have pick one up.

The ref was good but both teams enabled that by playing the game properly.

Spurs didn't indulge in the premier league dark arts and we didn't just kick them all over as PNE or MK did to us.

I thought McEveley could have been sent off. I remember three times when he could have been booked. So yeah, he had a great game :D

Adebayor could easily have been a red, was worse than the one Markovic got in the Champions League. McEveley escaping a second yellow for the penalty surprised me. Other than bottling those (probably didn't want the media to think he's "ruined the game" by making it 10 v 11 early) he seemed OK.

Ref was very good. Spurs displayed very little play acting and we didn't try to kick em to death (mind you, as they were much bigger and stronger than us, that would have been a bit silly)

I thought he reffed it well and its nice to be able to say so for a change

Adabayors was a yellow. Nothing malitous, just clumsy.

McEv's basketball skills were a certain pen but totally accidental - couldnt have complained had he given the yellow but correct decision to not.

I agree. I thought he was excellent last night. Constantly looking to keep the game flowing and pulling up only when necessary. Got the big decisions correct.

Disagree, if that's a red card I have no idea what this physical, contact sport is coming to

Even Graham Poll was saying in the papers this morning that Adebayor could have gone for that. Although I think early on in the game a Yellow card was fair but he had one two reasons to give Adebayor a second yellow card during the match.

The day I take on board that cunts opinion is the day I become a Steelers fan.

Who was diving? If you say Townsend then I'll have to disagree

If he wasn't diving, then why didn't the referee give him a freekick when he threw himself to the floor? Two other times I can remember off top of my head were both in first half, someone inside our penalty box and someone about 30 yards out, again no freekick given, but yet no yellow card either.

We can also go on talk about at least 5 times the ball went out of play and the referee and his linesmen stood there clueless as they had no idea who's ball it was meant to be.

There was a good one when Adebayor went through, lino wasn't up with play, so had no idea if he was on or offside... Then stood there clueless and waited for the ref to decide whether it was a corner or goal kick.

'Tbf' you can go down on the floor, not dive and still not get the free kick. What i'm trying to say is not everything has to be a foul, and not everything has to be a dive if they go down and don't get the free kick. It's how the ref interprets it,and i thought last night he let the game flow very well.

Yeah, I know what you mean with that. Just those three I picked out where I thought they were diving A few others where players went down similarly when I thought no dive or foul. Guess you pick the right word though 'interpret'
