I don't think we'd have been promoted without him that year. We only got a year out of him, but he will probably go down as one of my favourite players.

NW was bang on with his Shipperley comments, but he's having a bit of a 'mare at Palace at the minute. Awful loss for them against Scunthorpe, zero home wins so far, a small squad with zero money.

I think we have a very similar situation again with Henderson at the moment. Lots of Blades seem to want him dropped because he isn't scoring (apart from two good disallowed goals) but he's been a vital part of our successful start. He'll probably only be appreciated when he's not available, like at Wembley.

Fair point..but wasn't Shipperly one of our top scorers in the promotion campaign? So, if you're a striker you have to score goals, whatever else you might bring to the team.

He's already had 2 legitimate goals chalked off... If he carries on sticking them in now and again, the officials have gotta at least get a few right

Fair enough, I just checked and was surprised to discover that Shipperley WAS our top scorer with 11 goals. I'd like to think that Henderson should be able to get close to that over the course of the season. He's already had two perfectly valid goals chalked off, which should be taken into account when judging him on his goalscoring record.

Henderson has played the exact same amount of games Shipperly had played with us.

Shipperly scored 11
Henderson has scored 6

Even with 2 goals that may of been allowed thats still worse than Shipperly who was older fatter and slower (still a legend though).
