Neil Collins is going to Ipswich

When Collins was dire in the championship (surely you don't deny this?) were people right to say he was dire?

When Collins was very good last season, were people right to say he was very good?

Should people deny what is playing out in front of them to avoid being labelled fickle or creating scapegoats?

I don't believe I had a pop at any honest opinion, more the ridiculous nature of some of the descriptions and the ferocity of them before jumping to the opposite.

Why would I deny something I said myself at times? :)

Fair do's, but I don't think I've witnessed such a turn around in a player in my lifetime. He was one of the worst players we'd seen in the Championship. He was the player of the season last season, IMHO.

That's a wildly changing view. I also believe it to be a fact.

:)

It's not a fact unless it's in capitals. With an exclamation mark.

I would prefer it if Collins stayed whilst we are in this league. I would probably "get rid" if we went up. How fucking fickle is that?

It's brutal but wholly backed up by the evidence. Let's face it, his kids won't starve if we flog him.

Absolutely spot on. Doyle was integral in dirty Leeds going on a long unbeaten run and getting out of this league too. Neither whet my appetite when planning for a championship team but were part of a very good team last year. I can see some legs in the Ipswich rumour as Collins has played for mick before. Considering the money they've spunked on dross in the last couple of years Collins would be a cheap fix while he figures out his plans for next year.

He's very good in this league. Probably ok in the championship if not paired with bombscare, with mattock (one of the worst players I've seen who allegedly had good pedigree) to one side of him and a flapping keeper behind him. (Who played RB while Lowton had a foray in midfield?) I'd rather he stay. . . But it does depend what we are paying him. Surely part of the renegotiation wasto make it more feasible for him and Doyle to leave because they were on comparative silly money for their worth?

We don't have to dismiss all players based on their performance in that sinking ship of 2010/11. If promoted I think Collins would be ok, certainly as a squad player, while Doyle won't be good enough.

you're not wrong mate.. we had a standing joke that when he first signed he was on holiday in Tibet so he had to send his identical twin to stand in for a few games.. is it me or has Doyles' drop in form coincided with the departure of my mate Monty??

All the average players had better players around them, which usually results in players like that upping the ante. Take away the clump of quality in the side and the negative effect it has usually brings out the true level of ability in players like that.

Ipswich are apparently close to signing Richard Stearman from Wolves, so, hopefully that's their interest in Collins gone.

From a reliable source, he's gonna Ipswich, deal is nailed on. You heard it here.
Seem to remember that you have a track record of making controversial tip offs that don't happen but generally stir up unrest? Apologies in advance if I'm wrong and feel free to prove me wrong.
The only one ive ever said, was Beattie returning, and he returned.
Good to see that my memory wasn't letting me down, unless of course he's going when the loan window re-opens...
