Ndiaye's goal

Fantastic goal lovely player but I’ll give the management team credit for their man management skills in how they’ve handled N’Diaye broke into the team and set the place alight then started to drift a bit so they dropped him back down to the 23’s probably sunk in that he hadn’t made it yet and he’s come back and looks raring to go to stake a claim that’s good man management.

Superb goal. Drove forward with confidence, showed great pace to get away from the defender, agility to set himself and then fine composure to slot it into the bottom corner from range.

He's a confidence player is Ndiaye. An excellent display buoyed on by his early goal. On the flip side I've seen him have some poor games for us. To be expected given his age / experience, but I really hope he can put his head down now and show some consistency. Lovely talent and his workrate is great. Huge potential.
Not sure he’s had any ‘poor’ games or that he’s a confidence player. He seems to do the same thing every time ....works the defence and has the ability to get me out of my seat ...TOP prospect and echo other thoughts on this thread about being able to keep him.....unload the shite Prince and build the team around him

Im getting David Brooks vibes from Ndiaye

Worrraaaaa Player

If MGW goes back I don't think we need to sign a replacement

All them scouts there to watch Carvalho will be thinking we can get Ndiaye for £2-3m and he’ll go for big wage offer. Robinson was one of our targets but other clubs were offering 2-3 times our wages. That said he was nothing Bogle couldn’t handle last night

Reminded me a little bit of Danny Webber’s goal vs Cardiff albeit N’Diayes was much better in my opinion.
That's probably the last time anyone in a Blades shirt scored a goal like that!

It was the sort of goal, even at the peak of our powers that we just didn't score. Wind the clock back and whoever picked that ball up would have got near the 18 yard box, checked back, waited for support and buggered about until eventually a cross comes in that gets easily cleared.

Well, not any more :D

When was the last time we scored a goal from a player taking the ball from our own half and running on to score?

Brewsters goal at Blackburn is the goal of the season so far.

I've seen a few games where he's had prolonged anonymous spells without impact. In fact, he had a run of games like it which is why he disappeared from the side. I do take your point regarding confidence though, I may have been unfair there. His workrate is always there and even in his less impactful games he has shown flashes.

Thing is Ndiaye's poor is still better than the rest of the squad when playing average

The way he dropped his shoulder to wrong foot the defender was joyous to watch

It's a fucking beauty. Gets better every time you see it. Every touch he makes whilst dribbling and every movement of his body is done at the right time. Defenders getting turned inside out. A proper treat of a goal.

Ndiaye's goal was brilliant to watch for us. But be honest, if someone had scored that against us (as at Palace last season), we'd all be complaining about the lack of closing him down, getting a tackle in, no backbone in the defence, letting him run 50yds unchallenged etc...

If the Prince's team are not going to buy, as they have confessed. They cannot also sell the family silver. Sell the tin and copper, reinvest, do not sell the silver, or we're back to Mcabe days....

That statement creates issues for us.
If we sell low level players (the tin and copper) we’ll get about 3 million……we’ll get no where investing 3 million on replacement players.
Where as if we sell the family silver (Berge, N’Dieye, Brewster) at an inflated price then we’ll receive 40 million.
Re-investing these vast sums on the right players can greatly improve our chances of promotion.

Apart from PSG, Real Madrid and Man City…if a stupid bid is received for a player then he will be sold.
It’s common sense and good management….hopefully we will be run the same….as long as we have better replacements lined up.

At present I put N’Dieye in a similar category to David Brooks, remember Brooks wasn’t a regular for us either.
What I mean is that his talent and potential looks to be off the scale, good PL quality. However his effectiveness and consistency is lacking so he would be a big risk to the buyer but PL clubs with loads of money can afford to pay big money on potential.

can’t remember the last goal like that for us!

The more he plays the more insane it is that his contract was keeping him out of a side devoid of any creativity or spark.

whether that’s because he wouldn’t sign due to the obvious lack of opportunities under wilder or he just wanted too much for an unproven player we’ll never know.

but the fact he’s signed in the league below probably suggests the former. Remains to be seen if we can keep him long term but he’s been a revelation so far. For me he is On a level with brooks for how good he’s looked right off the bat.

I'm thinking Devlin vs Portsmouth inWarnocks first match. That might not have even been this century.

A fantastic goal, thing to note was at the end, all the players had huge smiles on their faces, they look happy and motivated.
Not a great attacking performance yesterday (not a criticism) but defensively they worked their knackers off, starting from the front, through the midfield to our defence, we snuffed out Fulham, harried them, got challenges in and put them right off, didn't let them play apart from their chance right at the end.
As Asaba said on the radio last night, "this is a great performance from the blades, they are just not letting Fulham play the way they want to", "they are forcing Fulham to play in areas on the pitch where they don't want to play".

If you had said 6 weeks ago we would win at Fulham.....

Let`s see how he improves. A player with his skill set attracts defenders. He will need the vision and timing to release the ball to create chances for others. So far very promising, and should learn loads from Jack and Billy.

The lad is worth more than brooks when we sold him, similar style just more tenacious. Easily £15 million in today’s market.
I think so too, Brooks only played to begin with because we had nobody fit who could fill in up front, otherwise he was off to Chesterfield for the season. Ndiaye has already scored as many goals as Brooks did when he was with us and long term may well go on to bigger and better things, hopefully with us but I won't bank on it.

I just hope that if and when he does leave, he goes somewhere decent and succeeds like Ramsdale is doing at Arsenal and as Maguire and Walker have done. It would be painful to see him sign for someone mediocre like Villa, Palace or Brighton only for us to be playing against him again in the Championship a few years later.

I mentioned this to my Dad. Did Sharp manage it against Derby (3-1 at the Lane), with the huge caveat that there was no 'keeper?

He probably ran on to the ball and first touched it in the Derby half, but I can't remember.

What makes him a standout player for me is his determination to stay on his feet and not go down to get a free kick.
If you watch the video he had a chance to when the bloke got to him near the half way line, most prem players would have thrown themselves to the floor to try and get the opposition a yellow. Not our lad, I think that once he passed the halfway line there was only one thing on his mind.... brilliant!

Also, great work from Billy as well, ran his tits off to keep up, got himself in a great position, dragged blokes with him, and then looked like he was about to slap Ili until it went in 🤣
I liked the way Billy immediately applauded the goal ‘hands above head‘ total respect for outstanding football.

Lovely goal and great to watch , aided and abetted by the defending of at least two of their players which was straight out of ‘ The Definitive Guide to the Art of Defending ‘ by Jay McEveley . :)
