Just don,t see the point in having pressconference on every leaguegame. EFL rules? Point is not to reveal anything to the opposition. I never really have an interest,Just a part of the build-up.

They are so pointless and Hecky is always the same "yeah well look at players and set up how we think is best. No don't know owt about injuries, no don't know nowt about transfers, my jobs to get the team picked and ready for the match. Yeah opposition look good so we're gonna have to try"

You obviously don't reveal anytime to the opposition about starting line ups or tactics but giving updates about injuries is giving info to the fans not the opposition.

Let's say Hecky revealed that McBurne is now in training and responding well and expects him to be in contention Friday night.
That doesn't mean McBurnie will play or even make the subs bench.

I think if you have a talisman star player who makes a team tick.
Then secrecy about that star player is a wise move as it might give you a psychological advantage.

Even PSG have tried it in the Champions League and France tried it in the World Cup saying Mbappe picked up a knock and hasn't been training so could be a doubt for the next match. The opposition get all excited that MBappe might be missing out injured.....then surprise surprise he ends up playing and the opposition are slightly demoralised before the match has even started.

Apart from N'Diaye we don'thave any players influential enough where the opposition are bothered about whether they play or not. So why the secrecy?
I think it's more about protecting the medical and conditioning staff as injuries seem to take longer than predicted and players breakdown from prior injuries.
So Hecky has thought any player who is sensitive to reoccurring injuries, even when they appear fit, he'll stay patient and give them extra time.

Does it really matter what any manager says pre match. Teams and players are well scouted look how the Forest semi pens went, Samba knew which way each of our players shot, written on his water bottle. There are no secrets to cover up the opposition already know them

Someone mentioned it once.

Regards injuries and possible starting line ups the best clue is to check out the official SUFC YouTube videos to see who was in training on the grass that week
and also which player has been asked to do the pre-match interview.

Would love it if one day he came out and said, “These look crap. Should be easy this week. Think we’ll smash them about 6-0.”

Agreed Hecky can be a bit reticent to divulge the real situation at times but it’s got to be a better ploy than having some bod announce the match day team to the world (and opposition) the night before every game so they knew exactly how to set up against us….you know who you are! ;)

I pity the players listening to his "inspirational" team talks. He might be on the touchline at every game but watches a different one.
You cannot know how he speaks to players before matches or at half time. Just because he remains calm in interviews does not mean he lacks passion nor motivational skills.
Maybe he does see exactly what most of us see, but does not immediately broadcast that to the media (?)

I would have thought that Hecky's man-management skills have been proved beyond doubt.
After the histrionics of Wilder's man management approach, and the probable language/cultural difficulty with Slav, I'm certain PH hits the right balance. He comes across as level headed, calm and disciplined, I can imagine the players respect him as much as players ever can.

He will make them feel valued but set the right expectations. Given the likes of DB, NW & CW he is a very different personality for sure but maybe in today's game a more appropriate one for a dressing room.

As this post is related to Ndiaye I'd wager of the aforementioned managers, PH is probably the best one for him (injury management aside). I'm unsure that the others would allow him to flourish and express himself as startlingly well as he has done this season?

Anyway, does anyone expect him to be in the squad on Friday? Personally think not, so going to be very light up top, when is Osula available?

Never in doubt, to anyone who bothered to watch him walking around the pitch after the last game.

Unbeaten in 6 are Hull

During which time they have played 3rd, 10th, 18th and the entire bottom three, and barring a mad last 15 minutes against Wigan, haven't scored more than one in any of them

And we've played?

Fingers crossed then

I’m too old in the tooth and been a supporter for far too long to get carried away, regardless of who the opposition is, but I remain hopeful of a good result

The Blackpool game was a reminder of taking nothing for granted

I'm going to say he won't play on Friday night.

Classic smoke and mirrors by Hecky to get Dull preparing tactically for Ndiaye to play.

Not much any team can do about him when he plays well. Short of a slack handful of combine harvesters ……. even they would be too slow to turn him. :)

Yeah. A couple of posts already looks like slight overkill.

Be great if he is. I'd imagine he is the type who just wants to keep playing.

On line hand you'd like to rest him vs Wrexham. On the other he might think it represents a gold opportunity to get a goal.

You'd hope post Wrexham that we can look forward to a month of McDiaye as Asaba puts it!

And we've played?
Whoever was in front of us, but that’s for Hull City fans to work out if they want to make our run out to be less impressive than it appears.

The point is their good run is largely against lower placed teams and they aren’t prolific, which might be an encouragement to us.
