Just don,t see the point in having pressconference on every leaguegame. EFL rules? Point is not to reveal anything to the opposition. I never really have an interest,Just a part of the build-up.
You obviously don't reveal anytime to the opposition about starting line ups or tactics but giving updates about injuries is giving info to the fans not the opposition.
Let's say Hecky revealed that McBurne is now in training and responding well and expects him to be in contention Friday night.
That doesn't mean McBurnie will play or even make the subs bench.
I think if you have a talisman star player who makes a team tick.
Then secrecy about that star player is a wise move as it might give you a psychological advantage.
Even PSG have tried it in the Champions League and France tried it in the World Cup saying Mbappe picked up a knock and hasn't been training so could be a doubt for the next match. The opposition get all excited that MBappe might be missing out injured.....then surprise surprise he ends up playing and the opposition are slightly demoralised before the match has even started.
Apart from N'Diaye we don'thave any players influential enough where the opposition are bothered about whether they play or not. So why the secrecy?
I think it's more about protecting the medical and conditioning staff as injuries seem to take longer than predicted and players breakdown from prior injuries.
So Hecky has thought any player who is sensitive to reoccurring injuries, even when they appear fit, he'll stay patient and give them extra time.
