Blades. Ive kept my head down since the noob was appointed...shit storm comes to mind...Anyway, I have loads of respect for NC and his helpers, this made stronger with the addition of Morgan, imho. But, how about you lads and lasses ?

its early days but the signs are good , hes polished some serious turds to improve our results , though Im gutted we lost out in not getting Stuart Gray, Milan Mandaric has kept his promise to get"someone with a winning attitude", and Grays 34 wins in just 136 games as Northampton manager leaves me feeling hollow we missed out.

Initially I was underwhelmed, but I think he's done really well since coming in, like you say using Morgs was a very clever move (are you listening David Moyes?) He speaks well and considered and has injected some much needed confidence, there's still a mountain to climb to safety but spending wisely in the JTW should help.

Onwards and upwards

Clough hasn't completely won me over but he can't really do that until we are in a position to achieve something again however he is on the right path so far and the signs are at the minute all looking positive.

United for me needed a no-nonsense manager to come in and strip everything back to the basics again, we were found out playing over complicated tactics without having the tools to do so and confidence at the club was at an all time low. On top of this the club is carrying too many prisoners who simply aren't good enough in the short term never mind the long term and certain players have even felt themselves to be bigger than the club.

Clough has come in and he has done all of the above. He has thrown everything out of the window and has started with a completely clean slate with everybody on it. To steady the ship he has reverted completely back to the basics of football with a strong emphasis on defending properly and grafting / grinding out results. He has given every player at that club a crack at the whip and I think he has an idea now of who is capable of the fight in the long term and who isn't and I think we will see a good few go out on loan and a couple come in JTW.

Either way the results are coming with this squad, if Clough can bring the right people in and get on to the next step of convincingly winnings games then he is 2 thirds of the way there with me, the final third obviously comes with achievement eg promotion.

been looking up old tables and teams have made the play offs despite losing 16 17 even 18 games in a season.
weve lost 10 so far , but have played nearly all the top 10 away from home, so of the last 27 we could lose another 5 to 8 and still make the play offs, depending on a general points spread, 2 points per game is as always the mantra

Decent, realistic start. I am almost certain that we will avoid the unthinkable and anything else is a bonus. During the Youth Cup final run I felt that only Long and Maguire (and Slew) would make it and I think that Nigel Clough is the first at the club to realise this.

Even his initials are halfway right, what's not to like?

He never had to "win me over" and aside from a couple of blips (the losses to Shrewsbury and Gillingham) he's done a good job with the little he has been given. We're mid table at least this season, and with the right results and some luck, we can make top 6.

I know its christmas but I don't think even father christmas can bring that this season .:(

Its high time this team responded to their situation with some determination. I reckon NC and his backroom team are responsible for our upturn, Morgan included. That alone gives me greater optimism going forward. Be good if we, as fans, could respond. Imho we have been a touch lethargic and rightly so with what went before, saying no more. *spits*wier... Bring on the robins.

I must admit I was very uninspired by the choice of NC as our manager looking at his past record. He has certainly served his apprenticeship in non league football and been a steadying influence at Derby when as a club they were in real trouble. It remains to be seen if he has learnt his trade but I think Derby may have been hasty in getting rid after losing to rivals Forest, they are going well now and I don't think that is down to Steve McClaren.
Looking at his short time here he has made one or two very strange team choices but even so we are now picking up points which is all that matters just now pretty football can come later. On his dealings with the media he oozes self confidence and this seems to be transferring across to the players who were on their arses after a few months of David Weir. He has a rep of being a disciplinarian and that is just what some players need at BDTBL, me thinks Brandy will have to work his nads off and up his game to even be considered for the first team. As for the woman beaters at the club hopefully he can set one on the right path and get rid of the other thug damn sharpish. I think the days of the tail wagging the dog may be over in S2 so yes on the whole he is doing most things right, it was never going to change overnight with the shower of shit we have as a squad but we are making progress and even this lot are capable of competing in this division. Still a long long way to go but we are no longer the relegation certainties of a few weeks ago so yes he is winning my vote for sure.

For my two penneth, I think he is doing an excellent job , a corner is being turned.

He's got 7.5/10 from me so far. Steady improvement ready for the assault on the title next season ;)
