He's pacy and left footed - so we tick two boxes with one player.

It's also a major plus that we've got him this early.

He had a 3 month injury last season and didn't hit the same form after he returned. So it's important to make sure he's fully fit and if he's with us from well before the start of pre season we'll get him to where he needs to be, the staff will start working with him immediately.

So I've got no doubt he can return to his early season form. That being the case, in addition to half the Championship being interested in him, this is a signing that does excite me. It's the best type of transfer - low risk, possible high reward.

Sign a winger and then sell our targetman ,great idea

Out of context if you read the rest of the posts its not what dannysufc_ is saying at all, in fact saying we perhaps need a better Target man one proven at this level, which is not really a bad idea adding an experienced Championship head into the team at the expense of Hanson.

So we've beaten a number of other interested clubs in signing a very promising lower league player with pace and further potential, who has been monitored by Wilder for quite a while........that'll do me! If this was the only signing along with Ched for the coming season, of course it would be underwhelming, but there will be more higher profile signings to come.......it's still May!!!

Hanson did a great job ,exactly what we required last season ,he still hasn't tasted defeat as a Blade ,he was signed on a 3 year contract in almost certain knowledge that we would be in the Championship ,we wont get a better option and he will prove invaluable next season. We have other positions far more pressing.

What's not to like? He's pacey, youngish, got a good left peg on him, scores great goals in shit sides and cost literally fuck all in the grand scheme of things, especially after we're not paying O'Shea anymore. I honestly think we've been crying out for a player like this for ages even though we've been unbelievable this season. I love players with the attributes he has, a cheap but very exciting signing with more to come, i'm in.

I agree he can be a handful and Wilder expressed a desire for him to be the man for the job, I guess it comes down to opinions, I personally don't think he will be a big asset in the championship, as he was in League one, I hope I am proved wrong and you are right on this one, and agree we do have other positions that are far more pressing, Looks like Wilder is looking to get the job done early doors as well something we have not been used to in seasons gone by.

Sounds a bit like Chapman we had on loan? Realise he is left footed but does this rule out Chapman coming back or will they complement each other, one on either wing?

He can't have been that bad if a team that's just come down from the premier league was interested too.

Let's see what he can do.

was thinking the same thing.

We'll have to listen to his interview on RS tonight to see if he utters the M word.

That is if you can hear the radio over the screams of 'PIG BIAS' echoing throughout the city when he only gets a 10 minute interview instead of a 1-hour special.

Isn't Enda Stevens a left sided player too ? I didn't think we were too bad on the left hand side last season .

Without reading through 14 pages I would just like to say what a refreshing change it is to be signing players and shaping the squad whilst most teams are still patting themselves on the back for finishing last season or even having finished yet.

I'm hoping some of these promising yet unproven players (Chedwyn and Thomas) at Championship level will be bolstered by a couple of old heads who've been around the block in the Championship a bit (without getting shafted for long contracts and wages). Some kind of settlement either way with Brayford would also be nice as he could fit into the tried and tested mould if his head is in the right place when it comes to rolling up his sleeves and listening to Wilder.

Well done Wilder and well done the board for getting deals done early doors.
