Any names out there ?

Strachan ,Souness ,Kamara/Beagrie ,Speed/Reid ???

It's fast approaching the stage where even Bryan Robson didn't seem so bad!!

Out of that list - Strachan then souness then kamara then reid.

Is Andy Scott still doing a good job at Brentford - too inexperienced?

Dave Jones has been close in the past but could we get him off cardiff?

Chris Kamara? As manager? I know we are desperate, but Kamara? Or Beagrie? We might as well get one of the Chuckle Brothers as either of those two. If Chris Kamara is the answer then we are indeed royally fucked.

Strachan -prob wouldn't come
Souness - no thanks
Kamara/Beagrie - cushy jobs with sky
Speed/Reid - risky but prob better than KB, no definately better!

Not much choice really.....Curbishly? Coppell?

Kamara did an excellent job at Bradford ,laid all the foundations for Jewell and is thought of much higher than him.

I heard that from a few players under him. Great man manager a la warnock apparently

I'd give Steve Coppell a buzz and see if he has plans. Don't think he would come, but he would be my first choice. Second would be Speed and then 3rd would be Beighton's suggestion.

Ian Holloway. Not just because I would not have a problem in communucating with him;)

I love his enthuisasm, his style of football and his funny quotes. Bouazza did the right thing in signing for him rather than Kevin "I have high level coaching badges" Blackwell. Coaching badges are really waste of time. Good man-management makes a good manager

A mixture of Bracewell/Reid/Speed/Ratcliffe would do for me.

Chris Wilder

Will be an excellent manager one day - just wonder if he'd want to jump into this at this stage in his career... he's enjoying Oxford AND they are doing well - a good place to keep building your skills and reputation for a while?

We should forget anyone in a job now, there's no way anyone would want to jump ship to join our leaky vessel. For me, the best of those out of work would be Curbishley.

At bottom of page has a dropdown list of some of the available managers/

Not included is Iain Dowie ?

God there are some scary names on there. I really do not rate our chances of making a 'popular choice'. When was the last time we actually put some effort in to bring in a manager?

Blackwell? Unemployed, and unlikely to get a job
Robson? Ditto, though perhaps even less likely to get a job
Warnock? Needed zero incentive
Heath? He was an assistant at Sunderland as I recall
Bruce? Was a player when offered the job
Thompson? Coach at the Lane
Spackman? Coach at the Lane
Kendall? Unemployed
Bassett? Wasn't he unemployed too?

So out of that bunch, which covers my time as a fan, I believe the only time we have ever dared to approach a club to get their manager is when Warnock joined from Bury. I believe Terry Robinson was running things at Bury, so I doubt McCabe would have had to exert much effort to get him to agree to anything.

Don't forget tactics. I've listened to about a hundred interviews from Kevin Blackwell, but learned very little about how he wants his team to actually play...

But as a die hard blade this is his dream job, and he may just think that when would he ever have a better chance of taking it, and making progress with his boyhood club
