Name our 'good' performances so far this season

Wah wah you entitled c**t bedwetter t**t.
There, got it in before you lot could.

I'm intrigued to what the thoughts are on this.

Inarguable: Oxford, Luton and Boro @ home / Blackburn and QPR away

Opinion based (not necessarily mine): Wednesday, Sunderland and Leeds @ home / Hull, Cardiff and Preston away

Even being a bit generous with those, I'm struggling to come up with more than 11 games we've played well in. I wouldn't say one or two in the line above were good performances, but I'm happy to concede to others who might.

It's just dismal dross for 2/3 of the season so far. And plenty more to come. Yay!
The lazy coaching needs to stop. Entertain your 'punters' Chris and maybe they won't leave before the injury time board comes up.
Just a thought.

Anyone else got any to add to the 'good' performances?
Most wins in the league all while having no good performances.

You have tried to have a pop at Wilder when I think you’ve done the opposite.

It is a brand new side put together with lots of young players. Next summer we will replace the weak links and will have a proper pre season.

You’ve got me excited for the future.

Many scorelines have flattered us and from where I'm looking we've been very lucky in quite a few home games, we could have lost several more than just the Hull game and we'd have no grounds to complain based upon the performances. There seems to be glaring issues with fitness and conditioning of our players and it's worrying how often substitutions seem to make us significantly worse.

I do have some confidence that next season, should we be in the Prem, it won't be quite the unmitigated disaster of last season, in terms of summer transfer activity to improve the squad. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, if we keep playing like we have been recently, we won't go up.
Confidence in Premier League! We will get destroyed just like all the teams going up.

What a bunch of self entitled fannies we have on here. Slim man and the usual suspects slagging their own team off.

There have been plenty of good games particularly earlier in the season. Think about all the injuries we have suffered. Souza, Soutter and Arblaster being absolutely critical ones. We had a complete rebuild last summer working on a tight budget and most on here predicted mid table. Not challenging for automatic.

We are not playing Plike prime Barcelona so the key board warriors come out. Get a life and support your team instead of continually moaning.
Don’t worry 99% of football fans know this. Just there’s about 10 posters (some have multiple accounts) on here who try to paint the narrative.

You go to any home game we sing Wilder’s name. Any away game you realise how everyone is over the moon with how we are playing.

With an almost complete team rebuild why do some fans feel we should even be in the top half, nevermind actually top of the league?

So we probably should be playing like a bottom half side, and not entertaining like the billionaire one club city teams. I wonder how many scintillating performances fans of Preston, QPR and Stoke can point to. 3 random teams from top of my head

Just IMO
Mebbe because Wilder is proven at this level and in his pressers says we're playing for 3 points, indicating a team going for it and expecting to be extremely competitive.
His signings have reinforced that message I think could be argued, they're not mid table players......Largely.
However they play unlike a gelled team,or sure of what their roles are. Square pegs, round holes.
Few relationships on the pitch beyond Gus n Callum and a captain whose neither inspirational nor assured enough to influence others.
If I'm on that pitch watching his shenanigans the other night I'm thinking WTF are ya doing mate.
He's mid table I'll grant you.
The contrast since Souttar's demise is stark.Stats show it in goals conceded.
Are the instructions confusing or don't we have enough good readers of the game on the pitch?Dunno.
We miss Souza when he's out but Jack the gormless doesn't fill the leadership void.
Think Anel dislikes playing alongside him too.
All this keeps me at home,it's not worth my hard earned cos it's not entertaining anywhere near often enough
.Kudos to the many who go.Im 2 hrs away so not as cheap either. That hasn't stopped me in the past.
Wilder ain't got what it takes for me and looks and speaks like a man with too much of a point to prove, which applies more pressure than necessary.
Doesn't even look like he's enjoying it any more than you or I sadly.
I'm dreading Sunday😳Think them fuckers will exploit our weaknesses, Robbo being one with his ill discipline.
Hope Holding plays instead.
I don't think my expectations are unreasonable despite the rebuild.
I expected it to be a squad effort but what happened to like for like in a solid system.
Still not sure what we're trying to be🤔.

Premier league if we get there,....Be hard to find some fun in that on this season's evidence.
Just to be clear, the performances don't match what comes out of his gob🙏.
He doesn't inspire either, always on the defensive.
I'm one confused disollusioned "Non Punter " I guess.
Time to make room behind the settee for Sunday😳

Tbf I was making a more general point about your recent threads and you must understand where I’m coming from a bit. I like a lot of your posts but I just think there’s a lot of unrealistic expectations.

If you really deep football as a sport and the reason why people enjoy it, it’s not because you’re entertained for 90 minutes. It’s because the highs are so incredible. It’s because of the atmosphere of watching it with your mates. It’s everything around it. Most matches I’ve seen throughout my life that I care about are usually tense affairs full of me mostly feeling nervous, sometimes elated, occasionally gutted. But mostly tense. If someone told me they wanted to watch something entertaining, I wouldn’t take them to a football match.
Have there been many highs this season?

A lots been said about the fans melt down after the Bristol match in my opinion its not this match in isolation!
We will drop points no way we would have won everyone to the end. That isn't the real issue ! We have been scraping over the line for most of the season and Tues was the day it came back to bite us.
Frustration is the word and fans are starting to talk with there feet! It has been horrible to watch most games even when winning.Fans were tolerating it after last seasons record failure ! It has now got fans really scratching there heads as to when we will win well and convincingly .
We are driving fans away playing like we are ! 25,070 on tuesday is testament to this.

We were one of the worst Prem teams in history, a side that was bottom half championship let alone top flight. We are pushed right against the ceiling of where we could reasonably expect to be given the size of the rebuild from that place and the season ending injury of last season's only bright spot. The clean up from last year's nuclear spillage has been exemplary in my humble opinion.

I've just named 11 potential ones 🤣 not like you to make no sense with what you're saying

Come to the conclusion you support the wrong team.
You need to find another that entertains for 90 mins every week and brushes teams aside every game. Then you might have a happier life.

The only problem with that would be you wouldn't be able to go on a forum and shout "here I am, take notice of me and my opinions. Don't dare have another opinion though or I'll just have to call you names and be basically vile to you"

I honestly do not know why you bother. It obviously eats you up every day of the week.
Life is too short to get so upset about it. Yes there have been some iffy performances but what ENTITLEMENT do we have to win every game at a canter. Give some credit to the opposition for crying out loud. Even those fighting relegation or trying to get in the playoffs. They, like us, are a team of professionals who are trying their best and work hard every game. Just like us in our own jobs.

I am becoming more convinced that all the negativity on here has spread to the stands hence the quiet/poor atmosphere. There must be a high percentage of supporters who view this forum, not necessarily post. You come off here feeling totally deflated with all the negativity, scapegoating and hatred of players/management/board we don't even know. You do have to get back to reality after reading posts on here, sit down and take a moment to realise what a great position we are in considering last seasons experience and all the upheaval/changes in the summer. There cannot be many clubs that have made so many wholesale changes in the summer and then hit the ground running. I was expecting a relegation battle to be honest.

Have there been many highs this season?
We haven't beaten a side around us apart from Sunderland at home in a freak game

Wednesday at home a high
Blackburn away also a high
First game of the season huge to get off to a convincing start

Beyond that I'm struggling

We have the 3rd highest wage budget in this division it's really tiresome people acting like we're in a false position 😂

I've been to 10 away games, it's a better atmosphere but no one comes away talking about how they're over the moon with how we're playing? 😂😂😂

You don't even go, you're too busy in shoutbox every game so I don't know how you'd know.

Just put in Shoutbox, we've been challenging for at least the playoffs for 5 consecutive Championship seasons. 401 points in the last 221 Championship games. We've seen it all before and with the football being more efficient than exciting or even attacking/direct it's been a tough watch and I've found it difficult to get too up, or down about any of it.

If that's entitled, fair enough. But I don't think I'll look back on this season particularly fondly. Just playing to par

It was a similar vibe in Hecky's season, but I'll always look back on that season with good memories watching Ndiaye. Same as this with Cooper, Hamer.

But by no means does that disregard what I'm saying... I'm just not sure why people don't want to be entertained when they've spent hundreds on a season ticket?

4 games all season then 🤣

Bristol werent anything special. Looked suspect at the back, played that stupid back 4 possession and almost got caught out. They didn't look anything special. Similar to a lot of teams in the middling Championship. With the quality we have we should be minimum 2 goals to good at around 80 mins.

Individual quality is winning us games from the usual suspects, but in general just generic stale shite with no cohesion. Complete difference from the side that went up in 2019.
Sorry can you just clarify.
"With the quality we have we should be minimum 2 goals to good at around 80 mins"
Do you mean we should be 2 goals to thew good every game at around 80 mins?
or
2 goals to the good at around 80 mins on Tuesday night?

You are very precious aren't you?

I have to ridicule people who are stupid yes. Like ones who suggest that the atmosphere at Bramall Lane is somehow being infected by the in your words 'negativity' of an internet forum 😂😂😂

What's the excuse for all the other grounds then that all have shit atmospheres post covid? Have they been reading S2 anorl?

The cup run saved that season too. Wrexham, Spurs and Blackburn are 3 of the best home games in the last few years.

I agree with the 2nd paragraph. I'm not a player or manager. Winning isn't the only thing over a fullseason. The atmosphere, individual games, highs/lows, great moments etc are what matter to me. It's mostly been formulaic and dull.

Start quickly, sit in 20-40mins. Have another go. Reassess 45-55, subs or a very good spell, be one up and then defend the box for 20-25 mins

Not directly critical of CW.just saying how it is and
how the fans are responding.Maybe having such a good start has made the fans feel entitled !
Frustration is the emotion we as fans are showing and a number will stay away rather than watch us scramble over the line.

Burnley fans have been moaning about how they play under Parker too. Like I say, maybe we're all entitled, or maybe when tickets are at an all time high across the board people want to be excited a little bit.

The last 2 home games are honestly amongst the most bored I've been. And surely even the most ardent Chris Wilder fan can see that.

I hear 'would you rather play poorly and win or be excited and lose?' Arguments and my question always is... why not both?

You cant help yourself can you. Ever tried to be a nice person in your life?
Try to put your point of view over with out ridiculing or being vile. You might enjoy it and others might respect you a bit more.

What about if someone, like me for example, doesn't expect us "to win every game at a canter"?

What if that person just would like some identifiable style other than grinding out results? We've been like a (very) low-budget version of Atletico Madrid and I, for one, don't think much of it.

Results have been better than performances but if that's all anyone is interested in they can follow the score on the Bet365 app or Soccer Saturday.

Maybe the perceived poor atmosphere has something to do with the excitement levels being generated.? We have players capable of providing that. For some reason that's being very strictly rationed.

Also, answer my second paragraph

The "you want prime Barca" argument is infuriating and Strawman. What we want is a consistent approach to attack, being direct and aggressive (not hoof, just not fucking about for the sake of it) in possession and not spending the end of games defending our box

I think a very important point in all this is that I just don't see why people scoff at people wanting to be entertained when they're paying extortionate amounts to go to football games.

'Would you rather lose?' Well no. But why is it I've got to choose between losing, and being entertained?

Is there not a chance (it's a long shot... I know) that we can be both entertained in the stands, and celebrate a win?

A good performance for me is a win.

So we've had 24 good performances.

As somebody said earlier in the thread, what people are yearning for is entertainment which is something entirely different.
