A wild guess - the 6th round FA Cup Match against Norwich 28 March 1959.
The score was 1-1 - Billy Russell scored for us.
We lost the replay 3-2.

The attendance was 56,495 !

It's not that game - United didn't wear white socks in 1959. They were black with red and white tops;

Are they green? Difficult to tell on my screen. If so, it must be Norwich, or somebody else's away strip.

Remember this match well, and me and my mate got chased out of Carrow Road in the replay by a mob including old women waving brollies at us ,just because I called a Norwich player a dirty bar steward Ex pigs player Butler I think.

It looks like Hodgy was wearing the white collar as he did in the mid 1960s just like in the photo below (Northampton 0 Blades 1 in October 1965)

Stumpy floodlights - built in 1961
Hodgy's white collar - mid 1960s
Wolves kit was all yellow in mid 1960s

Wolves relegated to 2nd division in 1965, promoted in 1967 but we wore white shorts against them in 1967-68 season

I think it was Blades 0 Wolves 2 in April 1965

Oxford was on Wednesday night, same night as when over 138,000 watched Celtic beat L**ds 2-1 in the European Cup semi final 2nd leg

Ahhh...that rules that one out then SB...just a guess with Black shorts suggesting either pre or post 67-68 season.
