Cardiff get docked 10 points and in typical SUFC fashion, with a glorious chance to succeed, Blackpool pip us to the last playoff spot.

Cardiff WILL NOT get deducted points. Any punishment given to them is from the Welsh FA for some frankly crazy reason given the competition we all play in is the English Football League. The Welsh FA are desperate for a Premiership team so will do whatever they can help Swansea or Cardiff achieve that. Let's remember; a point deduction is a horrible thing to do to the fans particular fans looking forward to a Play-Off run.

By the way; this isn't a 'Welsh' thing; I'd feel exactly the same if Berwick were able to be punished by the English FA while taking part in the Scottish league. Just doesn't make sense.

It is a horrible thing to do to the fans, but can any club in adminstration fully justified deserving to be promoted.

Surely it's the Football League that deducts points not the FA. They're two seperate entities. Wrexham were apparently the first team to be deducted points in 2004 and there's no mention here of the Welsh FA being involved..

I'd love football to be settled fairly and squarely on the football pitch, but it seems that a lot of football chairman are not of the same opinion, and are keen to distort the results as much as possible by spending more than they can afford.

UEFA rules regarding fiscal stability can't come in sooner in my opinion.

Let's hope they set the debt limit as 48 mill plus 1 pound then.

I know it's all about the ability to service the debt but it wouldn't surprise me if we owed more than they do.

But if we can service the debt it doesn't matter what we owe. We're playing fair, they aren't.

We don't owe the tax payer £5m.

Heres the deal.

My understanding is that if Administration comes before 1st April then the 10pts will be deducted this season, so Cardiff have a week to avoid Administration so they can keep all their points for this season.

However, an article on "Wales online" on 18th March stated that if talks with Malaysian Investors break down, then they could be in Administration within days.

They've paid the HMRC £1 million of the £2.7 that they owed, but arfe struggling to pay the remaining... which by my reckoning they have until 5th April to pay up....

Are you sure about the 1st April cut-off point? My understanding based on this article from last year is that the only way Cardiff could avoid a 10 point deduction this season is if they were relegated...

Have the rules changed again?

Given Leicester got promoted at our expense in 2003 (having been through administration unpunished), I'm sure the football Gods have something more original up their sleeve this time.

The most appropriate end to the season would be for us to be deducted points for breaking the loan rules. We've had that many we must be due an administrative cock-up...

:)

Leicester finished 12 points clear of us that season.

If we got in to P/Offs @ CC's expense we'd only nonce it up as usual anyway, my tip also is Reading coming up like a train & have the momentum.

Remember Palace under Dowie the male model they came from the relegation places & 1 team nearly always gate crashes the P/Off party.

Good for them. But they went through administration without censure. That's what allowed them to keep their squad together when they had no right to. These days the FL would have had their nads on a skewer.

It's one of the few Warnock rants I totally agreed with.

I beleive that from Southamptons situation last year, the basic stance of the FL was

"We'll apply it when it hurts you most"

i.e. If Soton went down, it was carried over, or if they stayed up, it got applied immediately.

I would expect a similar stance to be taken with Cardiff. If they are in the play-offs, 10 pt deduction. If they are`nt (and they are more than 10 points ahead of relegation) then we'll leave it to next year.

Assuming the taffs go into admin at all that is...

I think if we got in the play offs at Cardiffs expense then the luck has finally changed and we'll win the bloody play offs!
