Its always dissapoinring for me that I had to move to Manchester a long time ago because of work. But there is one song that I have always loved by Bruce (Spingsteen) that reminds me of growing up in sheffield and some times makes me wanna cry. You lucky bastards that still live there, realy realy.....just bloody enjoy it!!! If I have to say its called 'my home time'. Bobby

Take a good look around, this is your home town

After living in Trafford for the last 26 years, I suspect that I love Sheffield more than if I had lived there throughout. You know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder (even though I’m back every fortnight for games).

I cannot think of one Bruce Springsteen song that is anyway Blades related. John Dever had his pants down.

Eh?

High Hopes
Glory Days
I‘ll Stand By You
No Surrender
Reason to Believe
One Step Up
Tougher Than The Rest
Land of Hope and Dreams
Prove It All Night
I Wanna Marry You
Blinded By the Light
This Depression
Workin on a Dream
Better Days
I’m Goin Down
Tunnel of Love
Hello Sunshine
We Take Care of Our Own
Roll of the Dice
Wreck on the Highway
We Are Alive
Kingdom of Days
Murder Incorporated
Light of Day
Rocky Ground
The Promised Land
The Rising
Dream Baby Dream
You Got It
Down in the Hole
Local Hero
Magic
I’m on Fire
Roulette
The Ties That Bind
There Goes My Miracle
Save My Love
The Price You Pay
Book of Dreams
Hungry Heart
Blood Brothers
If I Should Fall Behind
Last to Die
Goin Down

Is that enough?

Decent pissed post.

Sheffield is about half an hour away on a decent run.

I still miss Sheffield but could never see me returning permanently it’s not like it used to be

What, by helicopter? Seriously, an hour and a half would be nearer the mark, same from Notlob.

I can go via the Snake, about 50 miles, hour and a half, or M62/M1, about 80 miles and still hour and a half.

Or I can go by train, £15 return and it’s about an hour and a half each way.

there’s a bit of a them there.....

Wow, didn't realise it was that long!
No wonder the guy misses it so much. That is an insane journey.
