Evans has made me nibble on some humble pie of late, but my word Neil Colins. At the end of last season he was definitely in my all time worst 11. Didn't even look like he could run, let alone be a pro footballer.

He took some deserved yet surely hurtful stick. It started to turn around aganst Hartlepool when he stood up to take the (first?) penalty and I thought given his standing with the fans, that was an incredibly brave move. Yet he's gone onwards and upwards and would be a real loss if anything should happen to him.

Well done Collins. I was wrong about you.

Collins has had a good season so far, he's not only been quietly and successfully going about his own job, but covering for others at times too.

Long may it continue :)

While were eating humble pie .....give me a slice.....Mr McCabe is my new pal.

Collins is my player of the season so far. Evans has been outstanding recently but Collins has played well all season.

Got to agree with you on Collins, Alco.

Thought Collins was immense today, found his level in this division, but thats what we need this season. Long may it continue.

With Morgs out long term, have we found our new club captain?

Collins was very solid today. My only grumble would be that he should have left the ball for Simmo early on, then went and booted it out when he could have cleared it down the line.

I thought the same...... but I didn't mention them as he'd played so well.

:D

I agree, but I saw that merely as a lack of communication. He wasn't sure, so did what Morgs would do... Get rid (ok so he didn't intentionally put it out) he was thinking safety first. Over the years we've had centre halves/ Keeper mix ups which end up with egg on someones face.

It shows how far we've come that we're disappointed that we didn't keep possession.

Found his level and is performing well.

As should most of the squad that came down last year.

Very true. But now you remember the errors. That's because they're few and far between.

Perhaps so. McGuire hgas commented on his vocal help. As for finding his level, there's clearly some truth in that for many of our players. But he's excelling at this one, which gives us hope he might hold his own a league higher. There was cleary a lot wrong last seson, not just the abiity of the players. But first things first eh?....:)

Yeah I agree, good to see things going in the right direction. So many teams take a season or so to adjust (like our neighbours) but we're doing ok.

Still not sure about Collins in a higher league... lets get there first (automatics not play offs) :)

I am delighted for Collins. He has been man enough to take the criticism and abuse (jusified or not- I don"t know) but reports suggest he is now well worth the shirt.
When Morgan signed for us, and for a few seasons afterwards, there was a contributer on an "academic" site that constantly gave him dog's abuse. I hope Collins does as well as Morgs has done for us over the years.
