Sorry if this has been posted already, but i am a bit baffled, this star article aludes to a Mousset injury scare from the Norwich game

Has there been any updates on this? I thought this would have come up already on here (and pls delete this post if i am mistaken)

It's the star. It's about as informed as 'footballleagueworld' and hitc.

He was taken off injured wasn't he? Landed awkwardly after jumping for the ball and then hobbled around before being subbed quite quickly.

Haven't seen any updates on his condition though.

I wouldn't take any notice of the Star, but any reliable info would be useful.

When was the last time The Star had anything exclusive on United?

The fact they have injury scare probably means wilder has already named him in the team for Saturday. I don’t think I need to click on the a link with star in it

Moose landed awkwardly when challenging for the ball. Looked like a calf strain to me but he hobbled off and sat on the bench IIRC. UTB

I thought it was pretty obviously cramp as he tried to stretch them but maybe not. i just don't think you clutch your calf the same if you damage it as immediate cramp pains would cause

Looked like he stretched his calf as he landed causing cramp, like MoTS said he seemed OK celebrating. Nothing to stop us putting out a story about him being a doubt and let Villa worry about it

Moose is always injured usually around the 80th minute 😂

Expect him to be out for 2 or 3 weeks simply because i put him in my PL dream team last week FFS. I will, however, take one for the team, and immediately replace him, so he makes a miraculous recovery and goes on an amazing goal scoring run. You can all thank me at the end of the season when i am languishing at the bottom of the dream team table, while Moose is collecting his golden boot :)

I’d read the full thread before doing that, if I were you.

Wilder said he should be fine in his post match RS interview.

Obviously The Star won't pay attention to that and just write any old cobblers.

Has he actually recovered from this yet?

The difficult part with Moose is that he's not match fit, but when you give him game time while he's not 100% he seems to pick up injuries.

Before he couldn't keep it up for a full 90min but now he seems to have lost a bit of sharpness even in the short appearances he makes.
He doesn't look as strong, as fast or even as clinical.

Could it just be a psychological thing, could his confidence diminish that quick? Does he just need game time? Would any of you risk him today for 45min?

Sadly mate none of our strikers are clinical and that's our problem at the moment.

He's a striker who hasn't scored for 10 games. I think he's just lost a bit of confidence and is probably lost the va va voom he had when everything was going right for him.

according to the stats moose was the most clinical striker in the league before Allen of west ham save d his shot on target

Dont get me wrong, it's fine lines.
If that City "off side goal" counts things would feel really different.
The back heel goes in last as well and we've found our new Deane and Agana.

Ready made clinical strikers at premier league level cost a bob or two! We have to brew our own and hope that one turns out to be a diamond. In the meantime we do what we are doing and keep it very tight at the back with our goals coming from all over the pitch.

The old IF my auntie had a pair of bollocks she would have been my uncle. IF.

I think it's more important for him to rest at the minute.

It might be a good idea not to include him today and let him spend the day sat on his big fat powerful arse resting up.

Eating KFC. 🤫

That was a misleading stat. It said he’d scored with every shot he’d had on target. It didn’t say how many of his shots were on target.

11 goals from 5 strikers in 24 league games is fairly dismal by anyone's standards, & in reality is relegation form! The fact that that is not the case is because of our strength in defence, & 9 goals from midfield. Not sure the centre backs have scored yet?

This area needs serious attention for next season, but as has been said PL strikers are serious money. It may be that we need to go out & pay serious money for a striker & trust that the rest of the team can be good enough for another season, that is on the basis that we don't sell anyone. Personally I would offer the earth for Grealish. He can play up front, behind or in midfield, & is only 24. I get the impression there is mutual respect between him & CW.. He may not come & may be more than we can afford, but if Villa go down its worth a punt.
