Seeing as we aint going up or down, should we go for it?
Being a nasty team will set us up for next season where all the others will be shitting themselves at the prospect of playing the "Cutting you down" Blades.
Why not eh?

P.s S6 Softies still bottom:)

If I was playing on FIFA yes, in real life bad reputation has consequences 🙃

Maybe 2 of the 6 were actually red card offences. Some of them were either harsh or just plain ridiculous which would have been a yellow at best with competent officials.

Last season, we were rightfully castigated for getting into too many team scuffles. This season thats stopped so the officials have decided to do us with ridiculous sending offs now. Why am i not surprised that we have had more reds than any other team... unconscious bias by the ref with Wilder, or maybe its not that and its just plain cheating by the odd official. Makes you wonder at times with some of the shite decisions we seem to get on a far too often basis.

Crap - still not in a play off position! Reds are going well but we need to do more work on the yellows, Alan Knill having a hissy fit over a throw in, Adam Davies leaning on a goalpost smoking a Marlboro prior to kicking the ball into the stands, Callum dropping his shorts and mooning the away fans etc.

Agree 👍

The only one that was actually a nasty tackle was Rothwell's, the others were just clumsy, not reds in the first place, or double yellows.

It's a freak run of reds for me, and the record of yellows is a better barometer of what we are as a side.

And i expect Seriki's charge for mouthing off at the ref after his sending off to become another red card effectively & another ban on Monday - so that will make 7. Does anyone know what the record no of red cards in a season is?.

Irrespective of one or two harsh decisions we've had, I'd rather not cheer on a poor disciplinary record.

It's not just the potential financial penalties and suspensions, it's the reputation that can go against you going forward.

As a former referee although I was non-league Level 4 referee, level 3 assistant, it is never cheating regardless of the level. However I do agree unconscious bias and actual research and reputation go a long way with any referee. Even in the non-leagues if you knew a centre half was a bit of a shit house from experience with heavy tackles, you would consciously be aware, one example was a bloke nicknamed “tree” as a young official, he tried to test me being, 6’7 and a sizeable bloke, he went through this kid studs raised after 2 minutes in the game, his face was a picture when the red card came out. On reflection it probably was a 50/50 but because of his reputation you lean one way

Referees are just human (apart from when VAR gets involved) and mistakes can happen but also viewing angles can play a big part too.

All duly noted, and you make sone very good points.

But some refs over the years that ive been watching football (50 odd years now) lean very close sometimes to look like they are down right cheating. Ive seen enough incidents and decsions myself over the years to form my own opinions of that - i still cant get past Rob Styles the cheating twat and the Sheffield player 'trying to foul Steven' (Gerrard). Dont judge everyone by your own decent standards. You may never have 'cheated', it doesnt mean others dont. So i dont and cant agree with the 'it is never cheating regardless of the level'. You are you, and you arent others.

Yeah definitely see where you are coming from and thanks. My biggest grievance with the current setup is consistency and the grey areas. In theory Styles got the decision right in one way as the Laws of the Game then were trips or attempts to trip and it was a fine line on “simulation” however flip it to the same season when Luton Shelton (RIP) away at Old Trafford got cleaned out after a run into the penalty area and the referee didn’t want to know. I was at that game and remember watching it back and hearing Chris Coleman going mental, in the Sky sports pundits box, after the match, probably the longest rant from a non blade about a decision against us.

Who's turn is it for a red today, im going to go for Adam Davies... 😉

The amount of yellow cards suggest we are not a dirty side if you take Gus out the side we would probably be the lowest.
With regards to reds where there is no var should the ref consult with the linesmen and the forth official before making his decision take a couple of breaths before wipping the red out.
