Sensing a general lack of enthusiasm surrounding tomorrow's night 1925 Cup Final replay.

What was yours?

I'll start.

May 1990 post promotion friendly v Genoa. Most of squad and crowd still half cut from the previous weekend's events at Filbert Street.

All suggestions welcome, unless it's Warnock/Cornwall/Tractor related.

There’s plenty to chose from tbf!

Maybe the Latvia friendly in around 2000. Mid season (think it was around March), mid week. No idea why we played them (I’ve the match programme somewhere so maybe that will explain why).

First leg of the league cup, away at Stockport. September 96. Lost 2-1. Vonk might have scored? I'd been on holiday for 2 home games so I decided to go.

Didn't even bother with the home leg which we hilariously lost 2-5, to an Alun Armstrong/Kevin Francis inspired County

Remember a Preston cup game maybe 10 years back.

Really low attendance game and I ended up being stood outside for 40 mins arguing with the stewards as my card wouldn’t let me through the gate. I’d paid. Had a receipt. Card wasn’t working. No ticket office.

Around the time time when Gallagher played for them.
Pretty sure they won’t a really drab game.

I can't remember exact games, but I seem to remember Boundary Park seems to be freezing even if the sun's out in May

See you at half time. We can have a catch up 😉

Scunthorpe away pre-season a couple of years ago.

Got there just as the bar was telling everyone they'd got no gas and no working chillers so couldn't serve any beer at all, which went down like a sack of shit on a 34° day.

Watched a pretty decent strength team get beat 3-2 by Scunthorpe.

All trains cancelled on the way home so I was sat on the station car park floor in the baking sun, borderline fully sober, in 34° heat...some lad's grandad was the hero of the day, came from Rotherham to pick a load of
us stragglers up and helped get us back to Sheff. Wouldn't take any petrol money from any of us.

Got back, opened my mate's door and his bastard cat ran off, proper silly day that was.

I think that was also the last time I saw Brewster score a goal in the flesh

Pre season friendly against Middlesbrough in the Warnock era. Absolutely bloody pointless and a lesson not to bother with pre season friendlies!

Burnley. Last game of the 2019/20 season.
Travelled down with mates in a car, had to sit 2 seats apart outdoors.

I only went for the novelty of "I was there when the works lost is marbles"

I think this is probably mine if we're discounting friendlies, we were long since relegated and I don't think Burnley could finish anywhere but where they did.

However, you, I and about 2,000 others are the only ones who can say we saw David McGoldrick score a premier league goal in person, so it was very worth it in my book.

Edit: virtually every game I attended last season was also almost literally pointless

Blades play a Baltic country - what's NOT to like?!

I also paid a daft amount to attend this. I sat on the front row of the BL Upper tier and when I removed my mask a steward came and ased me to put it back on. I must have been 15 feet from the nearest person and if I'd coughed it would have had to travel 30 yards to hit the goalie.

Good goal from Didzy though if I recall correctly

I remember going to Lincoln in league Cup 2nd round, it was 2 legs back then. We'd already won at home about 6.0 so the 2nd leg was like a friendly.

I remember buying tickets for Crewe away in Wilson's second season (around March time) thinking it would be in the middle of a glorious promotion push. It got snowed off and was re-arranged for midweek in the final week of the season.

We were a drifting play-off team by then and lost 2-0 to Crewe playing a bunch of kids. Total waste of six hours,

I think we lost to Yeovil in the play offs - great times

League cup game away at reading. Warlock basically told us not to go, hartlepool away in a jpt trophy game, we won on pens, stood there thinking what on earth am I doing here. Tomorrow is up there with those, so I've decided I'm now going to go. Seems fair.

Any cup match under Wilder.

Other mentions- the one Silent mentioned above v Villa what the fuck was that about?

Any testimonial game

Exeter away in the Ched season booked a weekend away for a "promotion" party there was literally a funeral atmosphere all weekend as no one wanted to be there and we knew there was nothing riding on the game.

86/87 all season and any game in the drabfest that was 01/02
