Most inept Blades performance you've seen

Left that at half-time as I was with a qpr mate from work and it was total toilet, we went into town and got absolutely smashed. My mate had a dodgy pie before the game though so was off work for the rest of the week, so it was a night he's never forgotten! As an aside, were there any wonder kids for AFC that night?
Arsenal team
Fabanski, hoyte, djoure, song, billong, Gibbs, Randall, Ramsey, merida, Wiltshire, bedner, vela
Sub's landsbury, coqulin, Simpson, mannone, Emmanuel Thomas, ogogo, frimpong

Almost all of those Arsenal players have gone on to have successful careers at the highest level apart from Mark Randall, who apparently is now plying his trade with Crawley and has only made 141 appearances in 10 years.

I remember looking at the team sheets in the pub before this one and thinking "we've got a great chance here".

Er...

The coldest, most miserable game I've ever been to. I think we left after 60-70 minutes, we'd never left before the final whistle prior to this.

The great coincidence as i went to many of these miserable away matches, Stevenage away 4-0, Oxford away 4-1, Peterborough away 1-0, all mentioned in this thread, i've seen the Blades at 50 odd away grounds, i don't recall seeing many wins.

That's because we never have won that many away games :(
Remember as a youngster standing outside tv rental shop windows (DER/Rediffusion?) waiting for results to come up on BBC.
Always pleased to get a draw, shocked and delirious if a win.
I think it's why the last couple of seasons have been so unbelievable for us old 'uns :):):):):):)

So many to pick from, don't know why but a trip to Huddersfield sticks in my mind. Steve Bruce resigned as our manager and had buggered off to the Terriers, his replacement Adrian Heath hadn't started the season very good a 0-6 drubbing at Maine Rd one of the early setbacks. Still we improved in September winning 3 out of the 4 games so were optimistic going into October. We didn't start the game too bad but Huddersfield soon got on top. Wayne Allison and Clyde Wijnhard gave Murphy and Sandford a right going over we lost 4-1 Murphy got our goal but we were never in the game. Really depressing but the season steadily got worse after that game until we met up with Port Vale at the lane for Heaths last game in charge. :(
