Our latest signing got me thinking about this. The result is...

1. Kyle Walker 96
2. Martin Peters 67
3. Harry Maguire 64
4. Gary Cahill 61
5. Phil Jaguelka 40
6. Kalvin Phillips 31

No others above 20.

Ernest Needham 16
George Green 8
TC and Fred Tunstall 7
Harry Johnson snr and Colin Grainger 6
Graham Shaw and Alan Hodgkinson 5

In reality most of those England careers aren't accurately reflected by the number of caps due to the comparative dearth of international games back then. If they played this century they'd have had a lot more. I think it gives modern fans an inaccurate impression of their England careers.

I'm surprised Jags only got 40

I believe we still hold the record as the only club side to ever field 10 England internationals in a starting 11, we did this numerous times.

Did an article for the Pinch a few years ago (so a bit out of date) of SUFC international players.

Also documents players at the World Cup whilst playing for us

Well obvioulsy he was never going to get capped playing for little old Sheffuld Yoonited.

Once Everton 'discovered' him, Ingerland managers were allowed to select him.

Well that's pretty remarkable. When did it happen and who were the players?
