This. This tops it for me. As they started to come towards us after the final whistle the vitriol was probably the worst I'd heard. Certainly the most deserved. Even a coked up Baxter laid into them.
I was reading the thread thinking that it's not Blades performances that anger me, rather the referees. Until you reminded me of dirty cheating opponents like MK.The game that made me the most angry was the 1-0 home defeat to MK Plastics a couple of seasons ago under Clough. But it wasn't the Blades performance that made me angry, it was the blatant cynicism of our opponents and the failure of the ref to do anything about it. I still remember the dirty f*cker, Carl Baker, running round kicking anything that moved, culminating in one horrific leg breaking challenge on Bob Harris. I don't think he even got booked for it.
Can I mention the 3 - 2 away defeat to Scunthorpe, February 2011.
Badly in need of the points. 2 - 0 up inside the first 10 minutes only to capitulate and lose three goals.
New we would be relegated then. Micky Adams.

Probably Crewe away last season.
They were bottom of the table and hadn't won at home in 22 attempts if I recall rightly.
The "performance" we put in that day summed up that team as a whole. Utter gutless inept wankers. They shuffled off at full-time to a chorus of "You're not fit to wear the shirt". That was putting it mildly.
Not to mention the spotty little virgin cunts in the stand who were giving the female lino a bunch of sexist verbal abuse. Before the match even kicked off.
Then the train from Stockport got delayed for 45 minutes.
An utterly shit day all round. I vowed not to do another away day for the rest of the season. Until I flounced and went to Millwall in March. Which we also lost.
Please can someone tell me why a blatant pen for us was not awarded at 00.30?
Why he gave them a pen for a blatant dive at 1:30?
And perhaps most mystifying of all - why he disallowed Done's goal at 3:00? All that had happened was Done's marker fell over.
Given that the tie was settled by a single goal, there were some very important decisions made that day
I indulged in a rare forum rant after that. Cynical buggers who shouldn't even exist etc etc...
I stand by every word.![]()
Swindon in play off semis. Bob Harris going missing, Brayford played out of position and then getting crocked as a result.
Then the first half hour in the return leg. I was all for sacking Clough on the spot at half time.
Yeovil away, Playoff 2nd leg. Watching in Dublin days after having a spinal fusion. I showed more passion screaming at the telly than any players did that day
1. That Pompey away game 0-3.
Was that the horrendous one under Morgs? That's one I'd purged from the memory too – definitely agree with you, and I'd add the Crewe away game around the same time. Both pathetic performances, and the height of Barry Robson shitness.
Six years ago today, the utterly pathetic 3-0 capitulation at Watford. No talent, no discipline with two reds and no heart.
It was looking bad at that point anyway, but we may as well have been confirmed as relegated that day, it was a shameful non-performance from too many players truly unfit to wear the shirt.
West ham away in our last premier league season, every challenge resulted in a free kick to them and to cap it all late on with them winning 1-0 their goalie collided with his own defender and one of our lot then put it in the net but somehow we had fouled an invisible player. Even MOTD said disallowing the goal was unexplainable. Some might say the ref had been "befriended" by some before the match.
My angriest game too. I attended it in the latter stages of tonsillitis thinking that I was over the worst of it; after 90 minutes of screaming, "Riley, you're fucking wank... Riley, you're a fucking disgrace... Riley, you fucking cheat..." (you get the idea) my head was pounding, my throat raging, and I had to have another two weeks off work.
To make things worse as I approached the tube station a West Ham fan walking beside me said, "You can't be happy with that," before going on to say that it was the worst refereeing performance he'd ever seen.
Yes that was the one for me although not the most significant. It was still the most abject display ever especially when Yeovil were already relegated !!The most angry I can remember being was after the 1-0 defeat at Yeovil a couple of seasons back. Yeovil were utter shit and we lost to them, I was furious with the team and myself for wasting my time and money.
Was that Kozzy's goal disallowed?
