I didn't say it did, people are bringing deaths into this.
If someone broke the law by giving off smoke from an illegal bin fire in the next postcode along... nope, wouldnt give a shit.
If there was some nutjob with a shotgun however.

The point I was trying to make is that the law is the law and flares and smoke bombs are banned in grounds.

Where they are set off, and how many people are affected, is irrelevant.

I really should just leave this now because you obviously have a massive dislike for them but did it completely your day Sunday?

It didn't completely my day, but I suspect some people found it rather irksome. But fuck 'em, eh, because atmosphere, innit?

Got to be a chav to want an atmosphere eh?
You're right though, my point is invalid because I missed a word out.

Don't mind the flares and smoke bombs personally, but I can see that it is a problem for some people with respiratory problems,so needs a designated area really.
Those flares at Wembley when Cork scored were ace though...I think someone mentioned it the other day...Times change I suppose...Anyone remember a game against Leicester when we beat them 4-0 at the Lane...some lads near me on the Kop thought it would be laugh to set light to some Leicester scarves they'd nicked, holding them up in the air before leaving them in a pile to burn...that's about as near as it got to a flare, unless you were wearing some...nobody batted an eyelid...Copper at the back wasn't bothered...mind you I suppose that was considered a minor incident in those days.

No, your point is not invalid. It is rather weak, but it's not invalid. It's supporting what is currently criminal behaviour in this country though. It leaves me wondering what other criminal behaviour you are in favour of, and what you would condemn? Just a thought.

It's a fair point but pyro is an issue with this club at this moment. It keeps happening and unfortunately, there are plenty who keep defending it as being OK. It's accepted by pretty much everyone that brick throwing is not OK and it's not a tendency of our fans which the club has had to come out and repeatedly make statements about. Yes. Throwing a brick is worse than throwing a flare. But throwing a flare is still unacceptable. It's the fact that some can't seem to comprehend that that is the problem.

Throwing a flare is mindless and should be punished.

However feeling that why should not detract from the fact that there is a video taken from behind the flare showing that it was held sensibly and deposited safely on the steps with no danger or harm to those around.

That said the same video shows the smoke bomb been thrown in the back ground, the dickhead who threw it needs a life ban.

Managing the situation is the problem.

1] Stop them getting in if you want them banned.
2] This is the difficult part but if they do get in and once ignited/set off the need to throw them needs removing from the situation.
If done correctly it can be safe, see above. The holder needs to know that they won't be grabbed so they don't need the feel the need to lob it.
3] If they are thrown then clamp down on the instigator.

Not easy to handle by any means but pryro does add to the atmosphere so it needs discussions on how to get it right and somehow make it possible?.

Came on to apologise, I really don't want to argue with fellow blades on celebration day... but you've made it sound like I'm admitting my guilt now.
Maybe I secretly am Sheffields Walter White now i like flares, but we can agree to disagree.
