Morgs on Hume...

Come on.

He elbowed him, on purpose.

If Hume has been our player and Moegan not we wouldn't be saying Morgan 'didnt mean it'

He clearly did, which is sad.

I think people are more annoyed that others are saying Morgan deliberately tried to injure Hume and put him in the state that he is.

The only man who knows the truth wears shirt number 5. He needs to know in his own mind if he did it intentionally or not. I'm sure if it was intentional, he's gonna struggle to live with himself. Ok, he'll struggle anyway because of the injuries, but how someone feels when it was an accident to how they feel when it was intentional, are two totally different things.

As long as Morgan can tell himself it wasn't intentional, then I'm happy. Not what he tells the press, or the lads - what he tells himself. He is the only man who knows the truth

I'm not trying to suggest that he meant to smash Hume's skull but he did mean to hit him. If he had been swinging his arms to gain power why did he only swing one? Surely anyone can figure our that the argument of using your arms means you need to use both to generate the forward force.

As for the Cech situation, Hunt was running and attmepted to play the ball, Cech bravely got down to save and there is always a risk of getting caught, but the ball was there to play. Morgan's elbow had nothing to do with playing the ball. I understand that you guys feel like you are betraying your club if you are honest about it but it is important to accept what happened. Seriously, just watch it.

A few years ago Matt Elliott did a similar thing to Michael Owen, and thankfully, Owen came out ok. However, the player was roundly condemned by his own fans for his behaviour and he never did anything like it again, it needs fans to take a responsible view to help cut this sort of stuff out. Everyone knows that any elbow to the head is very dangerous and that is what I mean by life threatening.

If Hume had escaped serious injury it may not have gained so much attention but there are plenty of similar inceidents which have like the Elliott on Owen, Shearer on Lennon. The injury is a terrible side effect of the challenge, and I have no doubt that Morgan did not intend to hospitalise the guy, but it doesn't change that fact that elbowing guys in the head can lead to it and he must take responsibility for the results of his actions.

That's it... ban contact in football.

It's the only way we can clear up whether injuries happen because of accidents or intention.

What? That's not what you want? Make your mind up. The two players were coming together.

Oh look... here's some players trying to head the ball. Are their arms by their sides. No.

And it's not like players put their arms up to shield themselves from others players is it?

If Hume hadn't suffered injury to the extent that he had, it wouldn't be all over the press and thus, you wouldn't have bothered joining up to come and whinge about it. To say the injury is irrelevant is daft seeing as that is the real reason people are talking about it.

The various comments about Morgan on t'interweb are along the lines of....
"He's a thug." This is based on what? He looks scary and he's from South Yorkshire?
"He tried to kill van Persie." Really?
"His track record is terrible." 6 red cards in the time he's been here. Patrick Vieira has the same number of reds and more yellows in the same timescale, and he's a midfielder.
"He plays for Sheffield United and we all hate them because they moan a lot about West Ham." What the fuck has that got to do with anything?
"You are an idiot for defending him." Oooh, personal insults now.

Morgan IS guilty of hurting Hume. Of that there's no doubt. But is he guilty of doing it deliberately? You can only answer that with a "yes" if you have PROOF. The kind of proof that would stand up in a court, not in the Upton Park or Oakwell public house debating societies.

I personally don't believe that Morgan deliberately set out to hurt Iain Hume, but I will quite happily change my mind if I see proof that he did. This doesn't include being called disrespectful or a disgrace, things of which I have already been accused via the website of The Times.

I don't know why people insist on coming on here and moaning about it.

I saw it in real time and it looked like nothing... as I said way way back on post numero uno.

Absolutely nothing was mentioned about it from the Barnsley lot until Monday. A whole two days after the match.

Then we were treated to slowed down replays over and over again. I maintain that both players were coming together... which they were. I and many other Blades had the benefit of seeing the build up to the header. Not just the bits they've chosen to play over and over again.

Another referee might have sent Morgan off. There were some extremely dodgy tackles flying in the other day in the game against Preston (?) and the referee just didn't want to get his book out for anything. Kilgallon shouldn't have been sent off against Wednesday but the card was upheld and we move on. Would a three match ban satisfy all these moaners? I don't really think it would and if it was going to happen, I think it would have by now.

So all you're doing now is supporting litigation and I have a very low opinion of personal injury lawyers. Where there's blame, there's a claim or where there's a slimy solicitor there might be some cash.

Keep moaning about injustices. It does you no good. And we've had our fair share over the years too.

Is SJH taking kozzy to court now for a flailing arm in his face?

Bonjure monsiuir, mamuzal............mi french is coming on a treat eh ?
just back wi 'our gert' £ - euro dropping like a stone !!!... well done Gordon.

Morgan thug ? no way, useless twat eye but no thug. This nonesense wi the Dingles might be a blesssing in disguise ! some of the Blades might get off Morgans back and for sure it'll bring Blades together.

any way off to BDTBL now, here's hoping we stuff Reading and gi Wally fat twat sum stick.

Up the Blades. :hello:

From the comments on SV's piece

That the Barnsley staff didn't send him to Hospital is IRRELAVANT!!!!!
(If you put something in capitals make sure it's spelt right :D irrelevant)
That they were faced with such a situation in the first place is the scandal here. Morgan deserves punishment not because he deliberately injured a fellow player, but because he's done it before and clearly hasn't learned his lesson.
(When has Morgan caught someone with his elbow before causing a Fracture?)
He needs an incentive to clean up his tackles, regardless of whether they're deliberate or not.
(The player making the 'Tackle' was Hume, Morgan was defending his position not tackling)
To make sure that another clumsy challenge doesn't put someone else in hospital next season.
(A clumsy challenge from ANY player could lead to another player being in hospital, it normally happens one every few weeks and doesn't get this kind of uproar)

Whether he did it on purpose is not important. (Yes it is, and no one but Morgan can answer th question) ( It's that he caused the damage at all that is of concern. If he cannot play safely then he needs to be coached how to, or banned from the game.If this was the case then we'dhave very few players in the game because every player is capable of injuring another player during a game) If he cannot play safely, then there is no room for him. Harry Boulton

On the last point I have looked at all the teams in the Championship and picked out their 'Dirtiest player'

So under the if your dirty you should be banned arguement from this person then all thse players shouldn't be playing proffesional football.

Hume back in hospital tonight due to further complications according to SSNl

Basically he's been feeling unwell and been sick, therefore back in as a precaution.

Back to Linz's (as well as others') argument that the hoo-haa is more about the injury than the challenge, did anyone see Chris Eagles stick the nut on Colace last night? Just a yellow card. No-one's skull got fractured though so it's alright.

Pretty much identical to what Ugo got sent off for against them yes. They won though, so won't be sending the video to the FA in case they notice their 2nd goal (3 players offside and went in off his arm!)

The extra evidence the dingles have sent to the FA is video footage of challenges Morgan has made in the past against other teams isn't it?

The rabble-rousers are at it again.

hume back in hospital..........at what stage will SY POLICE make an arrest??

But I thought that his injury was irrelevant? So why link the two together?

EDIT:

My sides are splitting...

Infection wasn't it- the press make a big deal out of it and are trying to cause as much possible

If you have watched the way Morgan heads the ball he often does swings his arms back.

True he did this last night and there was no player near him

Just to get my two pennies (my keys stopped working then and i put penis......:D) in, if the Barnsley medical staff weren't so incompetent that the bloke had a broken skull there probably wouldn't be a problem. Morgs did nothing wrong.

Now if he could just train the elbow on Gareth Ainsworth next time he ses him :D Oooo and Shaun Derry.

Reds boss to have his say

Published Date: 12 January 2009
By Neil Goulding

SIMON Davey will appear before the Football Association at the end of the month to discuss comments he made about referee Andy D'Urso in the wake of the club's controversial clash with Sheffield United earlier this season.
The Barnsley boss requested a personal hearing from the FA after admitting a charge of improper conduct following the game - and will travel to York on Thursday January 29 to argue his case.

He was sent to the stands by D'Urso following the linesman's decision to award a Blades penalty.

Action is still going to be taken against Davey then. :)

I was going to dig this thread back up again yesterday but thought better of it... for a different reason though.

I had a little meander over to the BFC boards yesterday and amongst the posts of "Davey out" was a thread, merely entitled "Morgan's Fault".

Apparently if they had Hume in the team (who everyone thought was shite before he was injured, coincidently) then they wouldn't be as shite as they are now.

I hope Mr Morgan and the rest of the team are prepared for some bad blood come Valentines Day and act accordingly.

They were well in the shit before Hume got injured and nothing has changed. They won only 1 out of there first ten matches and Id guess that's with a fully fit Hume.

Worth a watch but not sure I believe what he says about Morgan.
