Yer back Wilson but slate Morgan

UN FUCKING BLELIEVABLE

:)

You misunderstand. I'm not slating Morgan and I won't if he loses every game in charge.

The criticism is of the board. Appointing someone with no managerial experience to do an increasingly impossible job at a critical time of the season?

I was going to say it's madness, but it's just plain cowardice putting a crowd favourite in the hotseat when the bullets are flying. Plus it shows zero planning for next season when they're asking us for our ST money.

Morgs has my best wishes. The board want a shoeing.

This appointment has disappointed me as much as the Speed one did. Unexciting, uninspiring and right around Season Ticket renewal time.

My decision to shell out a hefty chunk of cash just got more difficult.

Of course I want him to do well, I'm just really not enthused by the decision at all.

They will have had a look at the season ticket renewal numbers and seen they are pathetic. It's bound to have been part of the decision.

If they have any sense they'll extend the deadline for renewals. I doubt I will renew in the next 10 days

I for one am chuffed to bits with this. There's nothing wrong with the team, nothing that a Chris Morgan boot up the arse can't fix anyway.

Not really sure what people expect when Morgan is given the managerial duty for the rest of the year. How many teams do people know that get rid of a manager 5 games before the end of a season and don't give a coach the temporary managerial role for the rest of the season? Do people expect us to bring in a half decent manager this close to the end of the season?

Trouble is, I find it harder to renew now than I did yesterday. I've no idea what I'm signing up to for next season. Not a scooby.

Might be guilty of scoreline journalism here but hope said boot works better on the first team than it has done on the U21s.

Its not about if he can do any worse. What if he doesn't do any better? If he fails to gain promotion his stint will be deemed a failure. Promotion is within our grasp, yes performances haven't been good enough, but the timing is terrible imo. Anyone thought about the effect this will have on the players?

Its just turmoil again, at a crunch time of the season, last year it was the court case, this year we lose our manager. Everybody is laughing at the mighty SUFC.

If wilson walked it will be his season that will be deemed a failure. not Morgs' possible 8 games in charge.

They won't be getting cosy little chats at halftime and like last night after the game .......................

Harsh but that is something I suspect has been missing. He will challenge them harder than they have been and they will react.

Of course, there's no guarantee of success and it is short-termism in the extreme but it couldn't carry on

He's not scared to make a timely substitution either eg he's watched Joe Ironside more than anyone else at the club

I agree with Junior, the timing of this is terrible.

Can't help thinking, as has been mentioned, that this is more to do with a commercial decision based on season ticket renewals rather than a footballing issue.

What difference can Morgan make, after all he has been an integral part of the management team?

im a bit gutted for wilson that it didnt work out, esp after the great footie we played last yr, the timing is strange, but
something had to give. 4 home games in a row without a goal and no evidence that Wilson knew how to turn it around.

the passion word has been banded around a lot but im not convinced thats the be all and end all. i dont remember charlton, hudders or the fowls getting promoted on passion last yr, they were just better than us. im not convinced the players are good enough to get us promoted whoever is in charge. we've tried differerent players this season in different roles and positions and on the whole the outcome is the same. we are we are due to our players ability.
if we still had a fit miller and blackman things may have been different but who knows.

i respect morgs aswell but i think an older wiser head like warnock would have been better, then again warnock did
slag or mccabe in his book and would cost more. ahh im getting more dissolusioned by it by the minute.

still cant stop supporting us tho, its blades till i die. COYR!!

He hasn't been the main voice in the first team dressing room though - he will be now. It's certainly a different style.

I have no idea if it'll work but he will push them

Fascinated to see his first team sheet.

Stuart Peace said he spent all night doing that before his first game in charge because he kept picking 12 players.

If it was to do with season ticket sales you'd think they'd have brought a proper manager in.

I really dont think it matters that much now. They have gambled, if we win every game from now until the season, we will go up. We would struggle to get any manager in, no matter how good they are and turn it all around in 5 games. They were obviously not confident Wilson could deliver and neither was I. If an injection of passion is whats needed, then I fancy Morgan is up to the task.

I met Danny and he was a friendly, nice bloke. I wish him all the best.

right call, we were losing it and giving up from what I saw on the pitch, morgan should at least give us a boost and some passion.

He's going to need an experienced assistant manager.
I think he might try and get Mick Jones who was Warnock's assistant when we last went up.
