Not guilty on that one.
I said wrong type of player at the wrong time. Great potential but we wouldn’t see the best of him as we don’t play to his strengths and I reckon it would take 18 months - 2 years.
I’m still hopeful.
I hope you have that in writing.
:) :) :)

I hope so!
I mentioned getting him on loan when we got promoted to the championship, looked good the few times iv seen him but for for some reason not being used much by wolves, would b a great signing if we could get a permanent deal after the loan

Apparently the deal is a loan only.

He’s not Portuguese and I’m not sure he’s got the right agent to play for wolves

Wolves fan here, great bit of business for Blades. Gibbs-White struggled to get game time under Nuno as he usually played a flat midfield two in the centre of the park which never suited GW. Basically GW can't tackle and goes awol when having to cover, however is good breaking forward with the ball at his feet and likes to get into the box. He's an ideal number 10 behind a central striker so if Slav can work around that then he'll do very well. Swansea played him in that role last season for a month or so before he got injured and he did very well there, as has our new manager Bruno Lage in pre-season games, where again he has been playing better than ever.

On the plus side, he is very mobile, good at fancy flicks and will bring a lot of energy to your midfield. On the downside, he lacks composure in front of goal at times and his pass completion is a bit ropey. A bit like marmite, probably around 50% of Wolves fans currently think that he should be in the first team and the other 50% probably think he will never make it. Regardless of his abilities in the Premier, he will be a top class player in the Championship if you give him the ball and will certainly improve your current line-up. Miles better than Lee Evans. Good luck with him.

I always thought GW was a winger/wing back? Or is that FIFA telling me lies?

I'm not a fan of you tube clips......even this guy looks good on here.

Feck me gerrim signed….oh, ‘ang on….

seriously, that puts McB in a different light a 6/8 yard fox in the box but 2 things we don’t give him the service with crosses and we don’t play him up there

With service like this, and Conor H also, just watch our strikers go!! Bill/McB/Brewster all 15 goals plus this season!
Requires them to drop a shoulder and run onto the ball not square it or go backwards

Lies, lies, lies. Can't defend and usually ineffective out wide. Different story in the centre of the park when pushing forward. We played him upfront a few times in a two man partnership (pre-season & cup games and last 15 minutes of league games) and he did well there. Can't head a ball, but good with the ball at feet and can pick a pass for players running through.

Sounds like he'll fit in perfectly with our midfield. They've not made a tackle since before covid and they love a fancy flick or two.

Ben Osborn and Luke Freeman love bringing energy to our midfield, so i hope he can room with them to learn the art of looking busy

Not a tackle between them. Where's the bite? Promising attacking proposition though.
Slavs Fulham side a midfield 3 of Norwood, Kevin MacDonald & Tom Cairney……
Not exactly Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira and Claude Makelele is it?

Macdonald could definitely tackle as could Norwood when he could run.

Weve no bite in our team. We haven’t for years, I’m not sure bite is required in today’s football either?

Kante is probably the best at it in the world and one of the few left.

Thanks Jonathan. Unless those 'fancy flicks' are straight into the back of the net then that is going to be a rather unpopular attribute at Bramall Lane!

He's never been the target man we use him as
But I still think players are cursed when they come here, all of those flicks and finishes from five yards out that went in would have hit the goalies nose or bollocks or something and stayed out if he was playing for us.

Kalvin Philips, Declan Rice.
Teams have them, yes. But it’s not 100% needed to be successful.

What I mean by that is dependant on the style of play we go for we can still do well in this league without a ‘shithouse’

Creativity in my opinion is what this team misses more than anything
