Cup time rolls around again after disappointment in the league...

ill be reserving judgement on tonights result until i know what team he's putting out.

By rights we should walk this, although im sure that the teams morcambe have already put out of the competition felt the same!!!!!

If i said i wasnt worried then id be lying :(

From the star...

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy, a former teammate of Robson's at Manchester United, has already plotted the downfall of Preston and Wolves to set up this evening's meeting at Bramall
Lane.

Hence Robson's decision to select the same squad beaten 3-2 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

"I saw the Wolves game and they changed just about their whole team," Robson added. "We won't be doing that. There will be changes but they will come from within the first team squad. I'll pick a side I feel is capable of winning the game.

Sounds like we'll have a strong team playing tonight.

Got to go with a fairly strong side really if we want to progress my team would be
Kenny

Geary Morgan Cahill stretch

Keef Hendrie Law Squinny

Stead Webber

Subs:

Luton , Monty , Lucketti , sharp ,ashmore

I'd be inclined to let Sharpy put a foot in the door......

Let Carney have a start. I'm pretty certain Cahill played in Villa's 5-0 win against Wrexham, so that's him ruled out.

aye he did Robbie. I really think tonight could be a difficult game but surely we should get through. How many they bringing, says on there site can still purchase tickets in our box office

Forgot about cahill - killa then ? - Occording to BBC sport website Carney is out with a hip injury - we need power and pace in this game get a few goals early on and finish it before half-time for a change

I hope we start Sharp tonight. He really needs to get off the mark with a goal, and this could be his opportunity:)

That would be a shame if Carney is unavailable.

I'd give monty a rest to get some re-cooperation from his injury.

My team would look something like......

Kenny
Geary - Lucketti - Killa - Naysmith
A Quinn - Tonge - Ashmore - S Quinn/Carney
Stead - Sharp

Bromby - Webber - Morgan - Armstrong - Shelton

Good result, nice performance.

Shelton was fantastic tonight and easily MOTM, Sharp should have had 5,
Monty did well, Hendrie looked good.

Shelton needs to start with Beattie on Saturday.

Hendrie looked really good in the centre. Kept things moving, very neat and tidy, and always looking to get forward. Hopefully noted by Robbo.
Mony seems to have realised his limitations which suits everyone. Summed up by the way he won the ball at one point in the 2nd half and just held his arms out to Quinny (I think) as if to say "Come on, I've won it back now you do your bit!"

Quality performance all round

I don't think its a matter of realising limitations :), more that the rest of the midfield allowed him to concentrate on his own job rather than his usual need to cover for half of them.

Good convincing win last night, they hardly did anything.

Was glad to see Sharp and Shelton get off the mark for the club, and also Hendrie getting a good first goal too.

Goals won't be a problem at all for us this season, neither will winning at home. We just need to nail a win away!!!

first clean sheet of the season aswell..i agree goals aren't a problem its keeping cleaning sheets and winning away

Good point.

A completely professional performance last night, but nothing to get too carried away about. Some very nice approach play, and linking up, but how Morecambe beat Wolves and Preston given that performance is beyond me.

Their fans were a true credit to the club as well. Good to see Shelton and Billy score, and let's hope heads will be up for Southampton now.
