Budgie was an unbelievable character, non stop in game and out of game talking.
I remember his pre game warm ups walking on his hands and doing chin ups on the cross bar.

He was also famous for doing gymnastics whilst making a save.
He had this skill of making easy-ish saves look spectacular with his mid air gymnastic twist/ turns and body rolls.

Can't see us 1) Buying anybody for £6 million and 2) Having bought someone for £6 million only having an £8 million sell back clause

When wages and signing fees, agents fees etc were taken into account it would be a loss making exercise

He's exceptional for his age, as I'm sure he's aware. I suspect he think's he's got a chance of playing for Man Utd, and I wouldn't doubt that.

I think he's also aware that he won't be challenging De Gea any time soon without already proving himself in the PL. Judging by how much he thrives on the crowd, I can't see him wanting to warm a bench or play in the 23s either.

Based on that, if he carries on the way he is for us, I imagine he'll attract PL suitors next season, I'd guess on loan, meaning I reckon our best chance of keeping him, even if only on loan again, would be going up.

I do worry sometimes that the same might apply to O'Connell.

Very valid point I wasn’t aware of. Mad gown chanpionship teams can sign players who have just played in a World Cup final also a great example of British players being waaaay over priced.

As I have said before, when measured against other PROFESSIONAL players he's average, better than a lot of players, not as good as many others.

For actually making it as a professional footballer, and professional footballers making up only a small percentage of those that play the game he could be called magnificent. But when measured against pro's in the whole worldwide scheme of things he's average
