Isiah...so are you implying McCabe is taking an 'above market' rate of interest on his loan?
Surely if, as many believe, he's got the best interests of the club at heart he will be taking less interest than commercial rates?
Is that what you believe NN6? I find it difficult to reconcile some of the financial issues reported - and I'm taking the probably very big assumption that they are being accurately reported - as being those of a very wealthy man who has the best interests of the club at heart. I believe that Mr Mc. will ensure as far as is possible that the club does not suffer as a result of any plans, schemes or structures he has put in place, but do I think that United is his first priority, no. Do I think that the clubs cashflow/realisable assets are being used at the moment to support some or all of his other business interests, yes.
And finally, if we take your figures at face value, then he can claim - just - to be taking a below market rate. I do think you may be inflating things a little however and he is certainly taking a far better return on his funds than would otherwise be available to him.
