Great news all round. I suspect a loan until the end of the season at which time a fee will have been agreed up front for his transfer.

There is a time and a place for Monty, unfortunately for a side trying to play it's way out of Division 3 it's no longer with us.

From the Notts Post BILLY Paynter's loan move to Notts County is off.

The Leeds United striker was set to join the Magpies on loan from the Championship club today, in time to face Sheffield United at Meadow Lane tomorrow night.

But after another Leeds striker picked up an injury at the weekend, Neil Warnock this morning decided he could not afford to let Paynter leave Elland Road.

The OS twitter feed carried extracts of an interview with DW saying Monty is off for a month. I'd like to think someone was coming in, but can't say I'm overly optimistic.

I believe the groundsman took delivery of a dozen sacks of grass seed today. Good swap, still covers every inch of the pitch but you CAN actually see something at the end of it.
