Monty wants to sign a new deal and I for one would love him to.

Sheffield United midfielder Nick Montgomery wants to commit his long-term future to the club.

The Blades' longest serving player told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I love this club and I think it has one of the best chairman you could have."

The 27-year-old former Blades trainee's current contract expires at the end of the season but the club have an option of a further year.

"That's out of my hands, I've just to keep doing what I'm doing," said him.

If monty is happy to remain within the wage structure of the club and is happy to be rotated dpending upon the opposition then i am more then happy for him to stay.

He has been a good servent and does a good job for the club.

I would echo what Jodman said.

If everyone is happy with the current situation regarding Monty (everyone i.e. the club, amnager and himself) then the extra year on his contract is a great option.

Especially with Speed out for the foreseeable future. Also I think I am right in saying some UTD player said recently that its great to play alongside him.

A move for Monty would be good.

He has been transfer listed enough times.

Yeah he was transfer listed twice under Warnock I think.

Why would a move for Monty be good? Because you don't like him?

He's been our most effective midfielder in recent games and is helping us in our attacking play by brreaking up the opposition atttacks.
He deserves a new contract not transfer listing.

Yeah he was transfer listed twice under Warnock I think.

He was subject to a few bids under Warnock. But strangely is still here ;)

He also was speaking to a current premiership club at the time of his last injury, which was initially missed by the blades.

Should have sold him to donny for 400k 3/4 years ago when they put the offer in

We've had higher offers than that before. Not sure how solid, but to the extent when the player being allowed to talk to a club.

Personally, I think we should extend his contract and he deserves to keep his place in the team.

Monty is god. Glad he wants to sign a deal.
