A number of clubs are looking to land Sheffield United's Nick Montgomery.

United learn on Tuesday whether they will be reinstated back to the Premier League, as an arbitration panel rule on their case.

The Blades are seeking reinstatement, insisting that West Ham should have gone down instead of them, because of their involvement in the transfers of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

Sheffield United know that a number of their squad, including Montgomery, will seek a return to the top-flight.

The likes of Phil Jagielka, Paddy Kenny, Michael Tonge and Montgomery are being linked with moves.

Now it is understood that Wigan, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bolton and Reading are all keeping tabs on the combative midfielder.

This all may be true but with the new mangement team in place and Kiddo getting more of a say in what happens on the training ground do we not think they will've also looked at Monty and thought 'if only he could pass...'.

In an ideal world we could bring someone in who he can pass to, who he can rely on, to provide the killer ball to our wingers and forwards. Monty breaks up play so well and a simple ball away to an attacking midfielder opens things up nicely - now if that midfielder is Tongey so be it, no problem for me.

I'm looking forwards to seeing our beloved team playing with a different style this season and maybe seeing a different side to some of the players - as per the suprise package thread.
