He's ok, DW says it should only be a sprain. Taken off as a precaution as Monty says he heard a crack but they couldn't be sure.

[PINCHY - LOOK AWAY, NOW]

Thank goodness he's OK. Monty is the lynchpin of the midfield and we'd soon be lost without him...

I did, though it was tempting to read on. I guess it must be a surprise party to honour my distinguished contribution to this site. A lifetime achievement award? A Fellowship? Or could it be a kn...
Mustn't ask or you don't get it!

Sir Pinchy of Shoreham? No need for champagne. Crack open the Pale Rider!

I have to say Pinchy, your taste in ales far outweighs your taste in midfielders :-)

LSF has just posted! I didn't read it in case it gives the game away. I'm really excited now though! If JD and Cooperblade post as well I'll just know it's a surprise party!!

I'd go for thanks goodness, because we can now hope Leeds are forced to offer him the deal he wants and we can get some room on the wage bill.

When he went off we lost any control of midfield.
Doyle and McAlister did not show they are a credible pairing.
Not seen McDonald yet but McA looked lost.

I am 50/50 on Monty right now. I don't believe a team chasing for promotion needs a holding midfielder like Monty, however I must admit he is retaining the ball better this season in the games I have been to.

Its no coincedence he is retaining the ball better ,it is the way we are trying to play ,massive jumps in form for Quinn ,Collins ,Doyle ,Creswell and Williamson ,are down to the manager ,both playing them in their rightful positions and letting them use the ball instead of getting rid of it straight away. It is also much more purposeful and direct than the O'Driscoll version which is too negative. I wonder how many careers Blackwell did unrepairable damage to ?

Monty will be out for 3-4 weeks with ankle ligament damage according to Anthony Giddens.

Take out the bit (you couldn't resist) about Donny and this is spot on. Harper and Howard to name but two in the career stakes by the way.

umm seeing as it was just about McAlister's first game then give me a break.. all hail lord monty..and doyle.. he's monty 2 but worse.

monty is the lynchpin of everything wrong with this club

Why was there such a big difference between Blackwell the assistant manager and Blackwell the manager? Was he abducted by aliens? ;)

Quite simply Blackwell is a good coach under a manager who can manage ,but his people skills and actual management abilty is appalling.

agreed. when bootwell took over my mate who is a leeds fan said 'he'll do ok with the players he inherits as he is simply coaching/organising'.. the problem will arise when he brings in his own players who he will immediately fall out with and then you'll be on the way down. and he was right

not exactly right was it

Monty is a 100% man he puts his heart and his soul into his game and you never get less from him, and he is underated in my opinion. Also hard to please Keith Edwards likes him and thats good enough for me because he does'ent give false praise, he calls it has he sees it and does'nt just tell you just what you want to hear.
I would be sad to see Monty go!
