Money, Money, Money

In common with almost every football club in the world, our expenditure substantially exceeds our income.

This plain, simple fact needs to be carefully considered by those who bleat "What happened to the.....money?"

In common with a lot of relationships in the world our expenditure subtantially exceeds our income (players wages = missus' expenditure). This plan simple fact needs to be carefully considered by men men (like me) who bleat "What happened to the *!$£* money?"

Harry's Game there is no doubt McCabe has made some god awful decisions but you have been overly harsh there I reckon:

"Not spending in the JTW in the prem"
We did. We just let Warnock spend it.

"Appointing Blackwell full time"
After the nadir of the Robson appointment Blackwell came in and turned us from relegation dogfighters to actually being in the play offs in play on the last day of the season, within about 16 weeks. He really can't be blamed for giving Blackwell the job on that basis.

"Handing Creswell a three year deal"
He backed the management team at the time.

"Not backing Speed"
As Speed was part of the management team under Blackwell it could said he had been backed. He also went off to Wales prior to the next transfer window so it's a moot point.

"Not sanctioning a back up signing for Ched"
Apart from Beattie, Hoskins and O'Halloran?

"Appointing Weir on the basis of a nice power point presentation"
Unlike Robson/Adams/Wilson the vast majority of fans seemed to be excited by the appointment of Weir. Only in hindsight did it go belly up.

As with your other examples, there are plenty of McCabe's prize winning cock ups out there without making some up as above.

"You do the fucking house-keeping then!!"

The prince has rescued the club and you and me folks from oblivion

Just stumbled across this piece of brilliance. Rescued the club is one debate but you have to be a Prince plant to write this. I don't believe administration would be the end of the world for us. Other clubs have actually benefitted from it where we have been sat with our debt as a millstone around our necks.

Bladesway. If that makes sense to you fair enough.

Anyways the club has no debt now the prince has joined us and your villain McCabe has written off £34m and given up half his shares.

So the point you make, as so many other of your points harking back to the past, is totally academic because there is no "debt millstone around our necks" which is the whole princely point I was making. We are a different club since September 2013 and you should absorb that fact, in effect it's all I've been trying to tell you all this time.

Without wishing to get embroiled in the wider debate, I defy anyone to speak to Kevin McCabe privately and then tell me he doesn't truly care about SUFC anymore than your or I do.

Some of the vitriol he gets aimed in his direction from some angles is way OTT.
There are very few posters (I certainly don't) who disagree with you, I suspect most of his detractors accept that he means well and has just fucked up.

The remainder are mainly made up of people who seem to hate just about every aspect of SUFC, not just McCabe.

No, people get that but it doesn't mean that he hasn't really fucked up badly and many clubs who plumbed the depths have now recovered and are playing Championship/Premiership football while we still languish in a hole filled with shit.

I think if you look back over the years since our relegation from the premier league, there have been quite a few posters accusing McCabe of fleecing the club. They do not get it in any way, shape or form, I'm not trying to imply that you have been one of those posters by the way!

And most of those who do not believe he has fleeced the club do accept that he has made many costly mistakes

This

The waiver of a £34.5m intercompany loan allowed the club to post an overall profit of £30.7m.

is I assume, McCabe, effectively turning £30 million he loaned to the club into a donation.

What a bastard eh?

If that meant, as the article states, that we turned out to make an overall profit of roughly £30 million due to Kev's loan waiver, doesn't that meant we'd pay substantial corporation tax on those profits?

I might be missing something here, but why not just waive enough of the loan to break even or make a slight loss?
