Between scoogs an Duffy, scoogs was like his old self (early clough) and Duffy played really well, my first game was againt Southend were everybody was poor but you could see the ability he has, today, as the game wore on and the confidence started to rise he was a real handful, biggest disappointment for me was at times there was nobody wide on either flank, a problem both when we were attacking and defending maybe its why the pitch has been narrowed? Anyhow I really enjoyed a good hour of todays game, fingers crossed.

I thought Duffy was really poor first half. Kept giving the ball away and his movement was poor.second half he was much better. Agree re Scougall but I also thought Coutts played well

Wright for me , but Oconnell a close second ,whats this about with centre halves not having 10 passes before getting it forward ? thought that was the rule these days ,how fucking refreshing was that. The single biggest difference and a welcome one ,also a defence and keeper who actually talk to each other.

Game of opinions...thought there was some very good performances. Scougs, Duffy and Freeman played well but for me Coutts was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch today.

Either:

A. Penny has dropped and he has realised he needs to do more of the dirty stuff to get in the team and off the transfer list.

Or

B. His agent told him that a few clubs were looking at him today and to pull his finger out.

Sorry mate ...... you must have watched a different game to me

Scougal was a headless chicken, ran a lot, accomplished nothing, and was regularly eased off the ball / fouled but at this level its overlooked ...... he rarely gets a foul when hes flattened. waste of a shirt.

Duffy improved slightly in the second half but for me looks slow, predictable, shot-shy and little ability to hold the ball.

MOM - probably Basham just for effort, as the team ( actually they were a collection of 11 ragged players ) was poor again.

Hope I hear the truth from Tufty in his after match interview rather than an Adkins-like gloss over with bullshit.

Courts just over Scougall for me.
Sharp,Freeman, and the 2 Centre Backs were the other contenders for me.

I think you did watch a different game, Scougalls attacking runs and energy, especially on the first half were the highlight of the game. I agree he did get knocked off the ball a few times in the second half

Sorry but how Scougs has come out of today with raving reviews is beyond me. One of his better games, granted, but overall he seems to have a quality of looking very busy but actually offering nothing.

I'm not a fan of Coutts, but he was MOM today with a honourary mention for Wilson.

Really good to see that Scougall's being encouraged to look to turn straight away and use his pace. The big concern with him is still whether he's physically strong enough. You can get away with being small like Quinn, but you have to be hard as nails like Quinn too. Sadly it's another one where Scougall ends up leaving the pitch early with a knock.

Scougs edged it for me ahead of Wright. He was all over the place and we saw flashes of him from when he was first bought. Not only did Wright play well but he marshalled the defence brilliantly. Duffy and O'Connell had good second halves as well

I truly am not getting the Scoogal love in at all.

Which is mostly worrying for me as everyone else seems to !!!!!!

I'd say Coutts edged it. Barely gave the ball away, ran the midfield, settled us down, and even got stuck in a bit too. A cut above Oxford, who actually have decent midfielders themselves.

Moore - 6
Freeman - 7
Wilson - 7
Wright - 7
Hussey - 4 / O'Connell - 7
Scougall - 8
Coutts - 8
Basham - 7
Duffy - 7
Sharp - 7
Done - 7

What's worrying is that often when we go through the team and give most players a good rating, the game itself was still quite closely fought and evenly matched against average L1 opposition. I think much of that is down to not having the physicality to drive home our superiority.

Some interesting comments, just shows how we can all see a game differently, looking at the comments there must be about seven different players mentioned, which means we probably played well as a team! encouraging, lets wait and see, at least I am looking forward more to our next league game

I thought Scougle flattered to deceive. Loads of running and energy and he got into some good positions, I can't fault him for that, but I thought that there was very little end product.

It'd be an 8 for effort and a 4 for application from me, giving him an average of 6, which I agree is better than he has been.

A player like scoogs seems to make things happen, chasing, harrying and when he has the ball looks to be positive, I understand the point about his goals/shots, fair enough but when he is playing well he has energy and it rubs off on the other players and most certainly the crowd, he epitomises what I believe Wilder was talking about how he wants his team to play when he first arrived, lets hope other players start to play with his enthusiasm something we haven't witnessed for a couple of years.

Scougall by a distance. But then he's consistently been one of our best performers since pre-season.

It's just a shame that he's one of the players that Unitedites have chosen to dislike, as they tend to do.

Matt Done would be my second choice, it's just a shame that he's one of the pla.... Ah forget it.
